Brett Favre is a great player. Much respect for him. Also I have additional respect for Byron Leftwich in last Sunday's game. He was most definitely in pain (as was Favre) and he (they) still played on. There were some true warriors in that game.

GO CHARGERS!

Football.

The Greenbay Packers against the Minnesota Vikings

The game was close the whole time. Greenbay got the ball, ran down the clock.

They were tied 31 to 31.

With 3seconds left in the game Greenbay kicked a field goal, and won the game 34-31!

It was amazing!!

:pok, sowwie. I stand corrected. I meant American football ;) and Brett Favre is the quaterback of the Greenbay Packers, he's an amazing player :) He's a cutie too...you know who else is cute...guys on the climbing team *cough* aaron *cough* what...who said that? hehe

Ok lemme not derail my own thread. but yeah I was talking about the Greenbay Packers. They are my fav. NFL team, and in the college league my fav. team is the Florida Gators (UF)

Boy, did we get lucky on that one.

Is it just me, or did Green Bay win 34-31 in the last Packers/Vikings game too?

He's throwing a bit too many interceptions in my opinion.

i think he's just been overwhelmed and his mind has been on the fact that his wife has cancer. He said he asked her if she'd like him to quit and stay home, and she told him to keep playing. So I think he just loves her a lot and has been worried. But you got to admit with all that's been going on in his life, he's kept it together pretty well.

He was crying at the end of the game. He has my respect, to go through so much and keep on going :) that's a true man right there. i have nothing bad to say about him. he's got my respect.

He's still a good quarterback, although that insight you gave me could explain for some his inconsistencies.

Yes it was, both games are also won by Longwell kicking a field goal.

I'm not caring too much about pro football as both my Bay Area teams blow this year. It's been tough. :(

At least my college team kicks ***, even though they were robbed by a ridiculous BCS system.

*Derail

I find it hilarious that the AP poll, one of the biggest influences on the BCS system, is being asked to be removed from the BCS system by AP. Apparently, AP realizes that people don't like the BCS, and have pulled their poll in fear that the hate of the BCS will trickle down to them.

[Edit]Almost forgot to push the thread back on track. I'm disappointed in both the teams I was pulling for this year, St. Louis and KC, so I've stopped caring for the most part. Though it'd be nice if Green Bay won it all this year. They've had a bit of a dry stretch.

Greenbay only lucked out. Although, that was the most edge-of-the-seat game I've ever watched. If it would have went into overtime, the vikings would have obviously won.

By the way, what'd favre have to do with them winning? Last I checked, he missed a few key throws... his entire career

I suppose they kicked the FG with their hands

I dont see whats so great about the packers... week after week they luck out against teams that refuse to put them away. Vikings, Lions, Texans. They just also happen to play in a division where the other teams refuse to win... allowing them to go to the playoffs and be one-and-done.

Not to derail much on this thread (still [American] football related). Anyone see the OAK v. KC game? It was anybody's game the last three minutes. I thought Trent Green was going to have a horrendus remaining Christmas after he coughed up the ball and gave Janikowski a chance to put the Raiders up by one. Apparently Green put that unfortunate circumstance behind him and moved the offense to where Tysan (?) can kick a fg for himself. He had all ready missed two (one blocked, one too short). Good game it was.
