Driver Help
2004-04-18, 5:04 PM #1
Hey guys, as you may know, I reinstalled Windows. Now that I am back on track, I was trying to reinstall my webcam. Unfortunately, I lost the driver disk. I was hoping that one of you guys had the same webcam so you can upload it for me, or could direct me to a place where I could download the driver.

I have a GE EasyCam Pro, my platform is Windows XP Pro, and that's all I can think of...

Can anyone help?

Just connect the device, your kernel should autoconfigure it as a v4l device and map it to something like /dev/video. Most programs are already set up to use the first /dev/video device, so your all set.

Oh, wait, your using Windows. In that case, I have no idea. I suppose youll just have to go out and buy another camera. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Edit: On a more helpful note... try and find the vendors website. They should have the driver somewhere.

Quit giving Linux users a bad name.

As Mystic suggested, I'd try to find a driver download from the company who made it.

Dudes, I gave him the answer. Do the google search, the fourth or fifth result is the bloody driver.

that's basically a cheap shot, sort of like a cyber-kick in the nuts.

I use both linux and windows, and i don't pull that s***. He's just asking for help, man.

The funny thing is, Linus doesn't really hate Microsoft (or Windows).
