If possible, with no earphones. Looking for something in the $20 or less range.

I know Nexitech (Radioshack) sells them for about that or under.

The only ones I know of that are under 20 bucks are the AOpen HS-780.

Great ones, but they have headphones attached. Heh.

For $20, I hope you aren't expecting something with a very wide frequency range.

If you want something with no earphones.... well you can jerry rig a nice hands off microphone thing just by usinng normal earphones and pluging them into your mic and then fitting them around your head so you can talk into the earphones.

I got a microsoft headphone thingy and the microphone doesn't stay right at my mouth and the earphones are broken so i just rest it around my neck with the microphone pointing at my mouth... it works very well.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want one with no earphones?

My guess is that he's playing CS and wants to team chat, but have his sound come out of his probably insanely-awesome speaker set.

5.1. And I also have a nice pair of headphones that I prefer, as they are rather comfy.

Your best bet would be to get a pair made for cell phones. They generally only have one ear piece. Just do a search on amazon for headsets.

Something like this?

Pretty damn expensive. You'd need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter also.

A desktop mic might cause a problem if you have your speakers turned up nice and loud.

What about a lapel mic? They're really cheap.

Radioshack?

If it's an actual Radioshack brand, I give it one year before it craps out.

Yeah, except if it's closer to him, he can keep the gain lower and pick up his voice properly and not pick up the sound from the speakers as much.

Expensive considering that it's for gaming. :p My mic set me back $400.

Wolfy, would you mind posting a link or something so we could see it? I'm curious.
