So I'm at work today..someone (as in customer) must have clipped a floor-standing display of Corona (12pk glass bottles of beer in corrogated cardboard boxes) -- two landed on the floor. Beer all over the floor..not pretty.

So, I'm helping one of 'my' associates with the mess -- he's lowering the dripping box into a plastic bag..and rather than hold the box while I hold the bag and set it in a shopping cart, he lets go of the box before it's in the bottom of the bag. He cuts his finger on protruding glass, and I pick up a decent slice on the side of my hand as the box makes its rapid journey downwards.. Fortunately, the bag didn't break..

So, I ended up with a 'minor' cut (I could kinda open it and look 'inside', but it wasn't bleeding much) - and it did not hurt...at all. I'd much rather have this than a minor paper cut..and it's probably 3x as deep and twice as long.

The moral of the story? Uhm..I dunno. :)

..yes..it's late..and I have to be at work in less than six hours..again. w00t.

I'm crying for the loss of the Corona. :(

Glad you're alright to, Lee. [/shifteyes]

Yeah, that's weird. I was wiping up a table once and someone had taped a chunk of glass to it, accidentally or purposefully I don't know...anyway, i sliced my hand opena little...it didn't hurt at all, but it bled like crazy, all over. All the girls in the class I was in were freaking out because of all the blood, it was great.

I'm sure someones hand just slipped and got out a roll of scotch tape out and taped a piece of glass to the table...common mistake.

the corona was no great loss, but I can't get over the loss of
a perfectly good glass bottle.... which might have held a superior beer if fate had been so kind.

That reminds me of the time when I tripped while holding a glass in my hand. Rather than release the glass from my grasp as I fell, I tried to hold it up to prevent it from breaking, and failed. I wound up with some 30 cuts on the inside of my left hand, and perhaps a few thousand bits of glas dust stuck in my skin. I found out that duct tape's adhesive works well for getting that stuff out. :)

You should get over it; millions of perfectly good glass bottles are wasted, each year, on low-quality stuff like Corona. I'm more of puzzled, not in mourning, due to this; why don't they use cheaper containers like aluminum cans?

Or plastic. Hell, even Coca-Cola comes in plastic now, and it's much better than Corona and much manlier than A Marca Bavaria.

I used to work in a supermarket with idiot "associates" too.

Cut my hand opening a box of glass jars because either the idiots in the back room threw it around or the idiots at the warehouse did.

Isn't Corona like $12 CAD for a 6 pack? It's supposed to be good...

There's something wrong here.

Alcoholic beverages generally come in glass (except for cheap beer, which comes in aluminum cans). Most non-alcoholic beverages come in plastic.

So basically, the drunk people will be holding glass, while the sober people will be holding plastic. That seems backwards to me. Perhaps it's an attempt to increase alcohol-related injuries and/or death, making people want to drink more. I think they should reverse it. Watching a couple drunk guys angrily bash each other in the head with plastic bottles would be quite amusing. :D
