Lucid Dreaming.

I just heard of this today..
While I often experience this, I never really gave it thought. I can't control it, it just happens everyone once in a while. They are the only dreams I remember.

Can anyone control this, and always dream like it?
If you don't know what lucid dreaming it it's being aware that you are dreaming, and can control the dreams... even though you are still alseep.

This is one of my goals for the summer. It's kind of hard to achieve, you need to have a pretty rigid sleep schedule. Which I am far from :/.

Rarely, i've studied that once you realize that you are in a dream, one of the first things you can do is fly :)

I've heard that one of the quickest ways to experiance lucid dreaming is to simply concentrate on one thing. life is full of repitition and your dreams reflect life, every day stop and stare and concentrate on an object and while looking at it say over in your hear, "I'm dreaming" when you see that object in your dreams you'll also hear the "I'm Dreaming" part and you'll "awake" in the dream...

I'm not sure if this works, but an old english teacher said it does.

I usually dream like this every night. At least, every night where I can remember dreaming, I remember dreaming like this. It's really weird, because you know you're concious, but its a different feeling than being awake. Last time it happened, it took me about 40 minutes in the morning to realize that nothing that happened was real and affected my life.

Same here. *shrug*

What you can do to help train yourself:
1. Master dream recall(remembering your dreams). Do this by simply asking yourself to remember your dream tonight. When you lie in your bed awake , simply repeat that question over and over until you fall asleep. You'll be surprised at what you can train your brain to do.

2. Keep a dream log. Every morning you wake up, grab a notebook and write down your dream. Keep a designated notebook for your dreams and even a designated pen. When you wake up try to keep as still as possible and remain in the same position. Then think about what happened in your dream. Then bend over, grab your notebook, and write it down.

3. In about two weeks you'll start to remember your dreams everynight. Not only will you simply remember them but they will be more vivid. When you reach this point then you are ready to begin lucid dreaming.

4. There are several techniques to induce lucid dreaming. These are the two I use the most.

a) MILD. Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream. Its similar to dream recall, but this time you are focusing on awakening within your dream rather than remembering it. When you lie awake in your bed, simply ask yourself that you want to awaken within your dream. Picture yourself awakening within your dream and tell yourself your dreaming. Then imagine what you'll do when this happens. Repeat this self-inducing process until you fall asleep. It helps if you focus your eyes on one spot on the ceiling or even the bridge of your nose. You're basically putting yourself in a trance-like state when you perform MILD.

b) Perform reality tests throughout the day. I have found this to help me a lot. At random points in your day look down at your hand and study it. Observe all the little lines and cracks. Then ask yourself if you're dreaming. Of course you're not but by asking this question it plants a seed in your head. You'll be thinking about dreams in the day, thus increasing your chance to have a lucid dream by night. And when you see your hand in your dream you'll stop and recognize it, and then hopefully that will awaken you(inside your dream).

Yeah. It's the last dream of the night you generally remember since it's the nearest one to waking up and thus nearest to the point when you are rested and of clear mind.

I have controlled those last dreams for a long time. I used to have lots of nightmares when I was younger, and I guess I developed the tendency to control dreams just to get rid of them. Nowadays I almost always steer my dreams to some direction. Another funny thing is to wake up (by intention or otherwise), and then decide to go back to sleep to continue the same dream for another half an hour or something :)

One EXTRMELY nice thing I used to practice years ago was to "listen to music" in a state half asleep, half awake. And I don't mean concretely to listen to music with some hi-fi equipment. Everybody can hum a tune in his/her mind. But try doing this when you are tired and ready to fall asleep. When doing this, I could actually hear the music almost as if I was listening to it with headphones, but to do it, I still had to concentrate. But concentrate a little too much, and you suddenly lost the feeling.

Strange things.

There was one lucid dream, where I used JED.

And created an awesome level.

Damn it.

lassev, I've done the same thing, only purely by accident. And once I realized the music wasn't really playing, I lost it for the rest of the night. :( But when it was playing, it was better than with headphones. It sounded like I was in a performance hall. Damn, I want to train to do that, because that was a really cool feeling.

I've done this, I realised I was dreaming, then paniced and tried to escape! I actually was lifting my head up while asleep and banging it down on the pillow, and it worked I woke up!

Haven't had a lucid dream since then.

I got it from a different forum where there was a bunch of talk about this... what prompted me to post this.

That is a copy and paste of what someone suggested for people to do, he did it with great sucess.

Indeed. It's quite extraordinary. To be one with the music, since there's absolutely nothing in your mind but the music. Your mind IS the music for those precious moments it lasts. But such a thin line it was to walk that I never succeeded doing it for more than maybe ten seconds. But since there's no awareness in your mind other than the music, those short periods really mattered, and time was irrelevant for a moment.

I think it's the wizard training and the subsequent mind control that's the trick.

I love lucid dreams!
The first thing that always happens to me in those dreams, is that I jump really high, like matrix jumps, or I can fly. Trust me, Lucid Dreaming where you swear you have all your senses and are flying/jumping really high is one of the best experiences you can have.
I remember one I had, I had been watching ESB and ANH all day long, so my dream was basically about me, shooting stormtroopers with massassian faces on them. Well, gbks faces on them and I think I saw a few others but I dont remember.
Towards the end it started getting REALLY weird, and I mean seriously weird. I had to shoot a banana into the thermal exhaust port because if I didn't I would hear really bad singing.
So yeah, go for lucid dreaming just to fly or jump really high

I give lucid dreaming a
