Are you sure its irc.holonet.org that is blocked, or is it the port it uses (6667)?

If it is blocking irc.holonet.org, try pinging it at home, and use that IP to connect at school.

Nah it's the port... the school blocks ports 6667 to 6900 to stop bittorrent... unfortunatly it kinda fubars mIRC as well... any suggestions I tried going higher on ports but then the server refused my connection.
