I just checked my email for the first time in two days. Out of 67 new messages, 65 were pure spam. That's 97% junk mail! Annoying.

So,
1) Post your worst spam experiences
2) Post your ways of dealing with email spam

Just be glad you dont have a Massassi.net address. They get about one spam email every five minutes or less. When I wake up in the morning and check it, theres usually about 100-150 spam emails in the inbox.

My hotmail account of 3 years has never gotten one spam mail.
My regular account gets no spam either.
I have never had a problem with spam.
I've gotten a couple of spam e-mails but nothing that was on going.

I've had my Hotmail account for 5 years. Since I've never used email to communicate (sometimes, once a year) I get nothing but spam. I don't care because I don't expect people to email me, and when they do I usually don't see it. I get about 100 spam messages a week.

Some son of a ***** spammer was using my email address to systematically email spam to every address on AOL. I only know because I was getting the rejects. ALL of the rejects.

Its funny, I dont get that much spam anymore. Seriously, barely any. I htink I may have gotten maybe 5 in the past year. And Im not careful with my email address, either. I think my ISP might be filtering out all my spam! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

I used to get tonnes when I was on AOL. TONNES. On the order of 50 emails a day...

The only way I've avoided getting spam is by using 1 e-mail address for all my signing up for things and such, and one that I use -ONLY- for MSN messenger and e-mails from my friends. The other gets 0 spam e-mails to the inbox, but about 20/day in the junk mail box

I pipe all my incoming messages through spamassassin and bogofilter. That takes enough care of most of them.

I seem to get a lot of e-mails from people trying to sell me viagra and other sex drugs. Others from online dating services, others whose topic line reads "Make her beg for it." Yeah, I'm not opening any of those.

The majority of sites that say "we will not give your e-mail to 3rd-party sites" are lying.

My uni one is starting to get a bit of spam lately, but the uni is implementing some new fangdangled spam filter which should take care of it.

Although lately I have received a few e-mails from techno-phobes complaining about me sending them viruses. Someone with my e-mail address has been infected with the Netsky worm and so people are e-mailing me back asking me who I am and why am I giving them viruses. One guy was rather abusive and came out with a "I know who you ****ing are so stop it!!" which I found freaking hilarious.

So I wrote back an e-mail explaining about e-mail worms and a few days later I got a nice little apology.

luckily my hotmail account has been pretty clean (my AOL inbox is anoutehr matter entirely. damn ****py spam filters), but the biggest part of spam that i get in there is from colleges, and i'm being completely serious. Hotmail sends most of it to the junk folder now. It's rahter sad when they have to resort to spam to get people to apply.
