great graphics thanks to half 2 engine (tho not quite as sweet)

I have never sat so long in front of a computer for one game, not even JK.

The combat is great, especially when you add points to your firearm/accuracy skills.

You can seduce/intimidate your way through the entire game.
My Vampire character uses his immense powers of the mind to force enemies to give information or weaken them in combat.

Oh and did I mention there are naked women in this game, you can buy prostitutes, pay for private erotic dances, and watch pole dancers.

I mean, GOD, what DOESNT this game have?

Been playin for about 40 hrs straights and nowehere near completing it, and after I DO complete it., I will have to complete it another 6 times with the other potential characters which changes gameplay.

After 40 hours you should be pretty damn near to completing it, my main complaint was how short it was.

I like it, load times are pretty bad on my comp though, otherwise its great.

Im playing as a brujah.. as I always do, and its a whole lot of fun killing people with a fire axe.

Malkavians have the best dialogue choices in a game since Planescape: Torment and the Fallouts. And all NPC dialogues are spoken too. That is all.

It's like a very nice cross between Deus Ex and a more contained Morrowind. If you liked Hong Kong or Hell's Kitchen in Deus Ex, it's a bit like that. The combat's almost as clumsy too :p

The Oceanside Hotel mission is one of the most atmospheric missions I've ever seen in a game. You'll know what I mean once you see it. Same goes for the strange... condition of a certain character.

Pity that it's on the buggy side and the game is a real system hog.

Relievingly, the game doesn't take itself very pretentiously seriously. From running around with a fireaxe in surreally tasteless clothing, a bereted cliché bandwagon Marxist vampire, outrageously stereotypically accented NPC's (German, Engrish, Scandinavian (!)), a foul-mouthed vietnam veteran vampire, to a character who seems to be inspired, to put it lightly, by Lawrence Fisburne's Morpheus (for cripes sakes, he stands in front of a fire in a lavishly furnished room, he wears round specs, he's bald, he wears a scaly trenchcoat with a colour coordinated suit and tie underneath, and his mannerisms are almost spot on too). Plus, it's always hilarious to dance on the floor to generic industrial/goth music set to suitably trite lyrics and watch other NPC clubbers gather round in a circle to admire.

If your hardware can handle it, and if you can handle the slightly muddy combat system, and especially if you're a whitewolf aficionado in the slightest, do give it a whirl.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

I enjoy the game, though it has numerous of graphical glitches. Disciplines like Fortitude and Potence should not cost blood, nor have a timed effect; Dominate should not cost blood. Drinking blood in front of a Sabbat thug should not qualify as a Masquerade Violation. A Vampire with Humanity 10 should not be able to kill, steal, drink blood from unwilling victims, blackmail, and lie.

The physics aren't as good as Half-Life 2's, and trying to save during cutscenes is interesting.

All in all, though, it's an enjoyable game, and the quality it bears over its predecessor (Diablo: The Masquerade - Redemption) is almost overwhelming. I did get tired of so much combat, however -- I eventually had to turn on God mode when I was in the Society of Leopold and making my way through the Tzimisce-infested warrens . I'm a friggin' Tremere, damn it -- not a Brujah or Gangrel.

Well, it doesn't use HL2's physics engine, only lighting and graphics.

Awful. Poorly designed, released WAY too early, runs poorly, doesn't capture the essence of V:tM at all, etc.

Severly disappointed.

I think would be cool if they made an expansion that added other clans to be played, and added some of the more spiffy powers. Mainly the assimtes, and the Tzimisce would be cool, espcially getting into higher levels of their vicissitude powers. Although I'm not exactly sure how it would fit into the story.. but it would definately be cool.

The game has its ups and downs. But generally it's really good.

The quality of the graphics varies a bit between the different areas, some are really good and others don't. But generally the atmosphere is really good.

Personally I think the combat isn't much fun so even though I chose gangral as my clan I tend to sneak around more. Also I enjoy the actual roleplaying parts much more than the combat areas. Maybe if fighting was more rewarding I might have liked it better (ie gives XP or loot).

The haunted mansion mission is great and shows great atmosphere. On the other hand the mission in the parking garage where you need to get a suitcase is absolutely rubbish and utterly illogical.

There's quite some jokes in the game (like: You've successfully pimped a hooker for Romero. Your mother would be proud! (as a mission clompetion text. Better yet, as an alternative to finding Romero a hooker you could have chosen to slaughter hordes and hordes of zombies!)).

All in all a great game so far. Haven't finished it yet though. Not as good as the classic First Person Hybrid games like System Shock II and Deus Ex. Nor as good as great RPG's like Baldur's Gate 2. But defenitely worth the money. There are some bugs in the game, but all I've encountered so far were only graphical issues that didn't effect gameplay. Except for one laser fance not shutting down as it was supposed to, but I managed to get past that.
