My experiment was more of a test of correlation between sound and location.

Me either. I tried playing with it and got nothing particularly convincing. However, I haven't tried pitch shifting dead air. (No pun intended.)

I don't know much about the afterlife so I won't given an opinion on this... all I know is I'm going to hell.

I'm a bit of a sissy when it comes to ghosts and stuff. Although, I am trying to build up the courage to sift through those files. It's quite interesting.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

If I was religious, and I believed in such a place, I would be in the fifth level of Hell.

Good job I'm not.

I'm not at all convinced. such recordings can easily be faked in goldwave or virtually any audio recording/manipulation program to sound like theyre coming from ghosts.

plus, from what the people have said over at rottentomatoes, this flick probably isn't all that great.

The english language, as well as a lot of languages have many sounds that easily sound like something else backwards. EVP is probably just instances of this on bad recorders, thus it sounds more convincing.

I don't know about doing it in Goldwave, since it sucks hardcore at modulating, but with decent software, yes it can be faked pretty easily.

Yes, but there's no real way to win. Because... you're in hell, the further you go down in hell the more screwed you are.

"omg dude anyone seen this movie? it was so freakin' freaky! i have seen alot of scary movies in the theater but never been to one where people were actually screaming in the audence but they did at this one. this is a must see movie!

I visited hell once. Twice actually. I killed some monsters, and then they rejected me. Said they had a strict policy about violent video games translating into real behavior.

My fingers are still scarred from the razor-keyed typewriters too. And I never did get published...

Saw this movie last night with a friend. Stay away, its one of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Very predictable, and at the end, nothing is explained at all. Its too bad, it was a good idea and I really wanted this movie to be good.
