Legacy of Kain Movie

I think that this movie should definately be made.. it has oneof the most complex story lines ever.. not to mention it's probably the best vampire story ever. Then again, the ratio of video games turned into movies being good, is horrible. Resident Evil, House of the Dead, Tomb Raider... all are stupid. There are only 3 ways they could make this movie properly...

1. Make it completely CG and have the Voice actors in the game do the voices in the movie
2. Make the people who do the voice acting play the parts of Kain, Raziel, and such (they are all like 70.. so I doubt that will happen)
3. Make it, then dub over the lines with the voices from the game...

I don't think I could accept someone else doing Kain or Raziel's voice.

The game is very puzzle based isn't it? How will that translate into a good movie?

A great story, I think it should definitely be done. Hey, Underworld came out decent, I'm sure this one could produce something alright too.

Sounds too much like a studio wrestling movie.

there's the problem... when people to get the gameplay to be turned into a movie... take the characters and story and make a movie with that... the story in the kain series is pretty much told in cutscenes anyway

but the other problem is if movie was made it would get a director who knows nothing about the characters or story and probably never heard of the games before
eat right, exercise, die anyway

As a player of four of the Legacy of Kain games, I can assure everyone here that the games are utterly not about playing any sort of game; in fact, most of them are mediocre games, at best. However, they are extremely well written and well acted. Most of each game spends half of it having nothing at all interesting happy, and then being utterly, utterly, consuming for the last half, only to end on a cliff hanger.

Simon Templeman (Kain) isn't 70; he played a bad guy in the last season of Angel that was played pretty much as exactly as a live action Kain, so that at least shows it's viable for him to play Kain in a movie (he's also been in 24 and played a recurring role on Just Shoot Me as a rock star, so he has some experience with cameras). The guy that plays Raziel... not so much. He's about 70. And not very threatening. And pretty much a voice actor. He's a *great* voice actor, but I don't think it would translate well into live action...

I agree.. yeah, I knew Kain was younger, but didn't know he actually did any film acting (or TV acting, whatever the case may be)... it seems to me though that they could do the movie FINE if the only had Kain's voice in it, espcially if the movie picks up where defiance left off.... But if they got someone else to play Kain.. I might go insane..

on a side note.. did anyone notice how much Dracula from Blade 3 looked like a red version of Kain?

Games these days have far better stories than movies. The problem is, they'll never make a movie out of a game because the story is good, they just make movies out of games because they're popular. You won't see a Deus Ex game anytime soon. Why? It's simply not known enough.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

They were making a DX movie at some point. Not anymore, though.
