anyone ever see this movie?

i bought it on DVD today, full to the brim with weird and clever imagery that seems to be quite accurate at portraying what we are, especially 20 years later.

awesome movie, i advise everyone checks it out.

I Love Brazil!

Which version did you get? The American "Love conquers all" version, or one of the REAL versions? More Info.

There actually seems to be a bit of a tie between Brazil and Jedi Knight, you can read my theory here.

Anyway, great movie, I need to go watch the other to Terry Gilliam movies I have not yet seen.

i'm only watching the DVD for the first time now, but it appears to be the European Theatrical version, interesting that there are so many versions though.

The story behind the different versions (especially the American version) and the release of Brazil in America is very interesting, one of the rare cases of Creative integrity winning out...

I love it! Terry Gilliam is a surreal genius.

Forces of Darkness being represented by pock-marked baby masks, the abnormally large caps worn by the Central Services types, that they drive around in Messerschmitt KR200's, the woman at Information Retrieval taking dictation, the dismissal of the restaurant bombing, advertisements for designer ducts, "They've gone back to metric without telling us!", "Computers are my forté!" etc.

In my opinion the only parts that haven't aged all that well are the dream sequences.

I highly recommend other strange Terry Gilliam films such as 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, if you haven't seen them already.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

I'm not sure if I thought it was horrible or just merely a waste of time. I think there was something I liked about it, though. Don't remember what. Definitely won't be watching it again to figure it out.
