By "old" I mean pre-1990s.

Kiramin got me the complete V series (which was an actual TV show based on two sets of mini-series by the same title - V and V: The Final Battle). It's old, cheesy sci-fi, but I like the story and the characters are interesting. The original is by far the best, but I like this series, too.
