What size is your iPod?

What size is your iPod? Does it justify your zeal/love/passion/etc for music?

It most certainly does. I keep running out of space, and having to delete albums I don't listen to as much to make rooms for the new ones. I'm really thinking about upgrading to a 40 gig, it's just a lot of money.

i honestly do not understand why people buy ipods.
they look cool. they play music. they have lots of space.
but so do about 13 other players at 1/4 the cost.
:/

it's the mac mentality.
"you need another stick of 256MB RAM for your mac. that'll be $120 please."
it's the exact replica same copy of RAM you can buy for $50 at the local computer store.

Evad, I haven't seen a 4GB player for less than $300CAD like the iPod mini... Link?
2005-01-09, 10:35 AM #10
My 20 gig should be coming in tomorrow, woo.
2005-01-09, 10:37 AM #11
I don't have all that much music compared to most people (about 3 gig), so the Mini suits me just fine. Fits nicely in the pocket, too.

ahhhh... my mistake. they're all 256 and 512MB players.
still, unless you're going to be away from your (or someone else's) comp for more than 3 days, why do you need more space than that?
i don't have one so maybe i don't understand.
50 mp3's should be more than enough to go to work or school for 10 hours.

When your tastes are as wide as mine, and your mood changes as quickly as mine, having an entire collection of music at your fingertips at any given time is truly a wonderful thing. I don't have one, and I want one, but I can't really justify getting one 'cause I bought a nice CD-Player in July, however it's currently not functioning at full capacity :( (OMGPLUG Click me please.). My entire music collection wouldn't even fit on an iPod mini, so if I got one I would have to do without some stuff.
2005-01-09, 11:03 AM #15
maybe i'm just not the music fans you guys are.
:/
then again i listen to the cbc 5 hours a day. ha!!! shows you where i'm coming from.

No, the Creative Zen 20GB is only 250 dollars. That's less than ANY iPod. And they are still damn nice.

Personally, I'd go with iRiver because I hate proprietary Mac crap.

iRiver is definitely sexy, and the prices are on par...

4GB iPod mini = $333CAD
5GB iRiver H10 = $345CAD

I could never buy an iRiver without seeing it first though, and I don't live in the states so they're super hard to track down. The iRiver website fails to list features such as: "Can it play solitare?" "Will dropping and denting it make it look cooler?" and "Can it play solitare?"

I'm actually on my second iPod. My first one quit working (I'm still not sure the exact reason), and, luckily, it was still under the one year warranty, so they replaced it for free.

Voted fairies. 40GB Zen Touch.

I don't understand why you'd need something larger than 4 GB. Granted, my collection is larger than 4 GB, but 1050 songs is enough to keep me sated.

I don't have an ipod, and have no plans of getting one.

I don't like carrying a bunch of gadgets with me everywhere I go.

20GiB. It's nearing the dreaded one year mark.

You forgot 60GiB as an alternative (iPod Photo).
