what unzipping utility do you use?
2005-01-13, 11:28 AM #1
I use winrar. I used to use winzip, but trust me, once you use winrar, you'll never go back.

Winrar offers support for more types of archives (it can even open .iso images) and it has a much better browser, too, for letting you see the contents of archives.

I typically use WinRAR.

I too have recently discovered the benefits of WinRAR! It' managed to get a 30Mb file of mine down to 3.5Mb, whereas WinZip managed a measly 22Mb   (don't ask me how - I'm just quoting the file-size properties as they were before and after zipping/rar-ing)... :o

After that test, I decided that WinRAR was the way to go!!! :D

I, uh, use WindowsXP. It has built in zip functionality, you know.

For real...

I use winrar ocassionally to make .rar files or open them. Cause the compression is pretty awesome.

yeah, but it is kind of half-a**ed, IMO. You have to go through a wizard every time, there is no way to unzip things directly.

What do you mean, there's no way to unzip things directly? Of course there is. Also, there is no need for a wizard. You need to learn how to use your OS. :p

 All SNES ROMs though? BS. All the SNES cartridges in the world wouldn't even take up that much space zipped.

Heh, I love how you have 11337 files in your SNES folder. ;) And damn, that's a lot. A LOT.

Uh why would you keep bad dumps and copies of the same game?

I never understood the point in having the European, US and Japanese version of the same game.

Seriously, there are many hacks of Mario World, all of them with new maps and graphics, and it's a lot of fun.
