What musicians/bands have you been listening to lately?
2005-01-17, 12:37 AM #1
The last month or so I've been listening to Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Eric Clapton, Van Morrisson, and every once in a while some AC/DC. I used to listen to more modern bands like TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Static X, Slipknot, and other such bands. Then I heard some kickass rockin' Led. Man the classic stuff is so much better.

I think this can stay here and thus I will keep it here

Alot of us don't visit the music forum, but a thread every once in awhile in the discussion forum is good. I'm setting an absolutely horrible precedent in doing this though, so probably some other mod will override me.

What if everything that exists is fragmentary, incomplete, aborted, events with ends but no beginnings with us constantly making categories, seeking out, and reconstructing, until we think we can see total love, betrayal and defeat, although in reality we are all no more than haphazard fractions. The mind, for its own self-preservation, finds and integrates scattered fragments. Using religion and philosophy as the cement, we perpetualy collect and assemble all the garbage comprised by statistics in order to make sense out of things, to make everything respond in one unified voice like a bell chiming to our glory. But it's only soup. The mathematical order of the universe is our answer to the pyramids of chaos. - Stanislaw Lem

Seriously though, these guys rock [or should that be 'bop'?]. Their songs are just so fun. And with Busted split up (:() who else could supply fun-pop?

Also listened to a bit of Queen, Simon and Garfunkel, Rufus Wainwright... although those were selected by Clare and were on in the lounge as I was tidying. I didn't complain though.

If you like this thread, you'll love the Music Forum, we've had about 73 of these. I don't mean to be anal (too late, right?), but +90% of the people in this thread would have posted, even if you would have posted it on the right forum, contrary to what some of you may believe, and the other -10% should be ashamed of themselves for being so lazy, if they wouldn't have.

I have an idea, let's start an Interactive Story thread on the Discussion Forum too! While I may sound like an alarmist, if everyone was to do this (which they won't, I'm sure), the admins would end up killing off a perfectly good forum, which would be a shame. In other words, you folks really need to support the smaller forums...*****es.

\m/ - Mistaken Identity just rocks! ;)

I've been listening to the soundtrack to the Phantom movie far too much - probably because most of the songs in it are actually in my range, catchy, and I can't resist singing along.

Spork, much as I respect so many of your opinions, you really do listen to 'music to kill yourself by' :p

I'm currently limited to Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith until I can be bothered to sort out my iRiver properly.

My roommate seems to be fixated on The Cranberries... and his music consistently drowns out mine... but the good news is, I haven't snapped and killed anyone yet.
