At school: not sure, but I regularily get downloads over 2 megabytes a second

I never download at uni, but in my house, our broadband wireless jobbywhatsit does 50-odd KB/sec downloads.

I believe someone (one of the techs) at our school said that we have a T3 connection.

The laptop's a bit slower since it's connected wirelessly.

[EDIT] Ran it again with T1 or greater selected, got ~462 Kbps. School's connection is supposed to be 10 Mbps, but that's probably spread across the entire dorm.

it used to be faster--- do ISPs typically slow you down if you download a lot of stuff on a continual basis?

School: just a little bit faster

My home internet runs on the exact same line as my school, which pisses me off, since the school has that line split among 900 idiots all downloading porn or mp3s over their wireless connection during class.

So my actual home speed is:
350 KB/s max (Approx 3 Mbps)

Actual School Speed:
30-35KB/s max (Approx 600kbps)

Work doesn't have internet, but at school it takes ~1.5 minutes to load the google homepage. You figure the connection

I have 384k DSL, it's hella slow.
