old forgotten game systems...
2004-04-18, 7:30 AM #1
which do you own?

for me it would have to be my:

The forgotten:
PHILIPS CD-i ... people only seem to remember this system when it is mentioned and many don't even know it exists
[http://members.aol.com/DrkJedi82/cd-i.jpg]

The "oh yeah i remember that system"
Intellivision
Virtual Boy
Sega 32X
Sega Saturn (not really forgotten but there are people who have never even seen one)

Game Gear almost makes the list but not quite

Seriously.

I'd still have mine.. but it was stolen.
Seriously, who steals a game boy? It was in my mom's car.. so they go in the car, leave the stereo, cd player, cd's, GAMES, and not steal the car.. but they take the Game Boy.

Sweet. I had a Commodore 600. It lasted, oh, about 8 years before packing up completely. I only had two real games as well - the rest were copied.

Sega Saturn, it had some pretty good games for it like Guardian Heroes. Game Gear was ahead of its time, but somehow it lacked the third party support of the GB.

I still have the original Gameboy. Man, that thing is a BRICK compared to the new Gameboy Advance. Unfortunately, the thing is pratically falling apart. I've lost the back cover to hold the batteries so I had to use paper and black tape to hold the batteries. Due to my experimentation with using a massive 9-volt battery to power the thing (the battery was the size of a can of soda), the springs used to connect the batteries are pulled out of place and one of them is gone altogether. Because of that, I have to use aluminum foil to connect the batteries to the Gameboy. If that doesn't make it sound ghetto enough, the screen cover fell off as well, forcing me to use tape to place it back on. That poor Gameboy is so far gone that I should just do it a favor and beat it with a hammer.

Remember back in high school when I was a junior, during the days when the Gameboy Pocket was the norm, one of my classmates, who was a sophmore and had his own Gameboy Pocket, saw my Gameboy and had a freaking field day showing it to his friends. He literally ripped the thing from my hands when I was playing Pokeman Blue (ahem... I know... that is rather scary to admit) and went "Dude! Check this out! This guy has the old Gameboy! Like how giant this thing is!". It was funny to see these kids get so excited over seeing it. It made me feel like an old man.

I gots the old Gameboy, and the ill-fortuned Gameboy Color...

I gots the Virtual Boy too, with Mario Tennis and Teleboxer(?). Those were good games. Had a wario game too, but it was a little short. The thing eats batteries like a mofo, but ironically, the AC adapter is just the SNES adapter, same plugs and all [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I also have a Commodore 64, and an Atari 2600. The commodore doesn't have more than 2 games that work now, and the Atari needs a new RF adapter, but it still works. The Atari still has like 10 games with it too, including Yars Revenge, Berserk, Pacman, and whatever that tank/airplane game is. Oh, and I have 2 controllers, and 2 of those special controllers. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I have the Sonic CD, but only got a couple games for it.

And that's pretty much it for RARE consoles [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Yeah, I still have my original Gameboy somewhere, and also a Gameboy Color. And I've recently pulled out N64, and bought a few more games for it, and I have to say, Turok 3 is quickly becoming one of my favorite shooters.
