While downloading the UT2k4 demo, I got the highest download speed I remember for a LONG time. Here it be:

4KB per second. can get up to 10 sometimes for VERY short times.

Not photoshopped or edited in any way. This is an example of the speeds I used to get when I lived in the dorms at RIT. Now, I live off campus, but still have access to the RIT network, so I get speeds of about 500k/s generally.

[EDIT] I also used to get speeds of 10megs/sec from large sites like Microsoft.com.

Go Aussie internet access! All you people with access to cheap cable/dsl/broadband are missing out on serious opportunites for personal growth while waiting for things to download.

temporarily my download speed is about 400KB/s. Always for the past week it has been between 350 and 420. I'm sure this will not last, sicne technically I'm only paying for 125KB/s. I'm not complaining.

I'm on cable with Cogeco. The service from them sucks but they are regularly in the top 3 ISP's in Canada for speed.

I used to get 180 kb/s top, and 120 average, but now im capped at 30kb/s... On cable too. Cablespeed is the WORST ISP out there.

The fastest I remember are when Steam is updating. I'll get over 1 MB/s doing that.

Most of the sites I download from throttle their speeds to about 50 k/s. I've topped out at about 600 k/s.

Usually around 300-500 kb/s. Used to be a lot bigger, as I could d/l SBX in only 2-3 seconds. I don't know what my dad did to the thing [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif].

I'm on the University of Colorado at Boulder's network from the dorms. I'm not exactly sure of the details of the connection but... yeah.

Yeah, the fastest connections you're going to get at are at Unniversities and Colleges. RIT has dual OC-3, as well as internet2.

I can get transfers anywhere from 58kb/s to 740 kb/s depending on the server.

The best Verizon speed was 6378 down/709up..
