I'm pretty sure those aren't even words. :p

The court ruling was fair.

The girls might have been nice to randomly bake cookies, but knocking on someone's door at that time is absolutely stupid. Why would anyone deliver cookies that late? People should be protected from having their property trespassed on. A situation such as a "dead body" or "fire" would definitely be excusable, that's why there is a judge that decides what is reasonable/unreasonable. There's no reason why delivering cookies outweighs the potential for harm.

Does anyone know in what stage that proposition to punish frivilous lawsuits is at?

The woman honestly did not want to teach a lesson or get a point across. She wanted vengeance against someone for her own overreaction.

This woman seems like she probably does have some mental disorders. She is obviously suffering from extreme paranoia if she automatically panics to the level of needing hospitalization just because someone knocks on her door at 10 o clock at nite. An average sane person, even a vulnerable older woman such as herself would not react like this at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she is developin schizophrenia.

The ridiculous part is that she required 900$ in medical bills for absolutly nothing. I mean, what could they have possibly done when she admitted herself? Probably just gave her some drugs.

There exists a difference between looking out to see who's at the door, and having a panic attack and not going to the emergency room until the next day.

"Oh, my. It's some neighborhood kids. They must WANT TO KILL ME!"

I can see how that's a logical conclusion.

Once, a drunk man showed up on our doorstep after midnight and demanded gasoline. We called the police, and the police helped the man. Panic attacks and lawsuits did not ensue.

This entire situation is just ridiculous. The girls even offered to pay the woman's medical bills so I don't see why there was a need to take this to court.

Knocking on someone's (especially a stranger's) door that late might show a bit poor judgement or lacking manners but this made it a crime... You must be joking if you want to live in that kind of a society.

I can only assume she will have a ten fold increase in aniexty attacks, ranging from random death threats, door bells ringing at 2 AM. At least some form of retrobution will be delivered.

I certainly hope so. She can at any rate thank her lucky stars that she doesn't live on the same continent as me.

Anyone who panics at the sight of cookies on their doorstep and then proceeds to sue, even after finding out the reason for them being there is %100 harmless, shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

....The judge told 2 18/(almost 18) year old girls that 10:30p was late? The judge and the woman need a visit from Grimmy.

You know, small claims court judges are directly elected. Food for thought next time you vote.

"Oh my god, someone parked their car on the other side of the street near my house at 3:00 AM, and the motor and the opening of the car doors woke me up, even though they didn't make any real loud noise, and I had a panic attack, we should sue them"

"Oh my god, some 18-year old non-minor Girls were nice to me, they offered me some cookies as a gift at 10:30 at night. It's obvious that they were trying to kill me, because people, naturally, only offer cookies before 9:00 PM."

O_o

That woman is either greedy, disturbed, or both.
