Terrorism in Grand Central Station (didn't happen, but a scary experience)

Last night I went into New York City to catch a local band. After the show, me and my friend took a cab from downtown to grand central. Since he we both live in different towns on different train lines, and since I missed my train by only minutes, I was stranded there for only a few minutes. I noticed when I first walked with in my friend that there were more cops there than usual (there have been quite a few since 9/11..) My friend left, i went outside to get a pretzel, I come in and I see tons of cops and firemen... It was freaky. The reflection of the lights from outside were omnipresent throughout the main hall of GCT.

It didn't help that Fox News was playing at the News stand, talking about terrorism and ensuring all Americans to be fearful... but despite that point, it felt like there was something crazy going on.

Does anyone who watches Fox News (or anyone else, for that matter... I would just assume they would talk about it more) have any idea what was going on?

Uhh...So you saw a bunch of cops outside the station? Thats a pretty everyday occurance. What makes you think it was related to terrorism in any way? It was probably some other crime...

Sorry, I don't think I accurately depicted the situation:

There 4x as many cops as there normally are INSIDE the station, and they were acting like something was up. In addition, there were FIREMEN inside grand central station, equipted with axes, walking around.

It wasn't a normal occurance.

How do you know they weren't there to take a train, and that they just happened to bring along their axes?

Are you sure you weren't feeling somewhat american at the time? Perhaps Fox News was reporting about voting turnouts...

If fire fighters were there, they were probably responding to some sort of call.

Eversor- That happens every once and a while. And if something did happen or was happening, Im sure they would have closed down GCT.

It may have something to do with this...
