applications that let you save mms:// streams to your hard drive. Suggestions?

I went through sourceforge and found Java MMS downloader (doesn't work properly) and gmms (works right, but there's no indicator as to how much of the current download is done .. and I'd prefer there to be at least a progress bar)

I would prefer something simple and small as opposed to bloated and/or spyware-containing stuffs like net transport.


[oh, and .. I need this for pre-recorded streams -- obviously if it were live streams a progress bar would be pointless .. I just need to download already-there files]

They use it so people can't download videos onto their drives. For instance, a site may contain many funny videos (such as ones commonly linked to by people here at massassi), but you wouldn't be able to download any of them because you have to use WMP to be able to play those files, and WMP doesn't let you save them. Most download managers don't support downloading from an mms:// address. It's very annoying.

ASFRecorder will do it.

hehe, i thought you meant mms as in multimedia messaging on a mobile phone ;D
