I used to play that game but the CS community disgusts me. So many whiners, cheaters, and lamers are found playing that game. Those AWPers also get on my nerves too. The only Half-Life mods I play now is Day of Defeat and Natural Selection.

There's a group of us play it in our office at lunchtimes. We used to play 1.3 on LAN - we had a dedicated server sitting in the office; but we wanted to upgrade to 1.6, and that required Steam, which really screwed things up for us. We had to play on the Internet because we couldn't get the server running Steam. Although we did make good use of the opportunity - we made custom decals with our site's logo and web address on it and spammed every server we entered with adverts .
We've now moved onto Condition Zero, which is great for us. We can now play on LAN again, and we have the 4 or 5 players on one team versus as many bots as the server will add - usually 12-15. We've not managed to set up a dedicated server yet, but we should be getting around to it soon.

CS is decent, but the community is incredibly disgusting. Therefore i dont play it.

Yeah agreed the community is screwed up, I've found some pretty nice servers though. Though you always get in those scumbags..

I'd prefer to be playing Day of Defeat, not that that is much better, but at least you can concentrate on playing more than text fighting. But...with the last Steam update it's made it to where I lag immensely and can't connect to my favorite servers without constant "timed out"s.

And you know you've really hit the bottom of the barrel of the CS community when you find an admin constantly trying to pick up a 17 year old female player.
