I will have to say the 1990s. By far, in my opinion.
The Simpsons, Nirvana, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, grunge, post-grunge, alternative rock, Clerks, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Blade Runner Director's Cut, DVD, The Matrix, Fight Club, Jim Carrey, The Truman Show, death of the audio casette, 2pac Shakur, Dr Dre, The Slim Shady LP, "...Baby One More Time", Vanilla Ice, M.C. Hammer, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Boy Meets World, Napster, Y2K, the Internet as we know it, Windows 95, Windows 98, blink 182, Enigma, The X-Files, MTV (when it was cool), Titanic, Pokémon, Final Fantasy VII (and VI for the stubborn lot of you), Disney's Aladdin and Lion King (pretty much the only good ones by Disney, not counting those by Pixar), '90s hip-hop, Sega Genesis, SNES, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, GoldenEye, Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (arguably the best one), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (also damn good), pretty much all games of the '90s rocked ***, Doom, first-person shooters, whatever, StarCraft, Age of Empires, the Zone (when it was good), Massassi ;), no adware, spyware, pop-ups, advertisements on the Internet, no pretentious website designs, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys (I was never a fan, i.e. Spice Girls 4ever, however, I'm pretty damn sure that a very large percentage of you, especially those of you who were in grade school when the Backstreet Boys came out, were big fans--and don't even deny it), the whole damn culture, man it was awesome, I can't think of any more specific examples right now, but there was so much stuff, so much good stuff, so many awesome movies, good music, furthermore, refer to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for more examples.
