I think it's time to move on...

You know, I've seen alot of these threads in my day, having been around since July of 2000, but they're usually all for some stupid reasons.

You come into one of these and you read stuff like "this community is just gone downhill. people are mean bla bla bla... I'm leaving" Well, you won't find that here.

I thought a little about it today, and I think it's just a fact of life that there are better things I could be doing than spending time posting on a message board.

I'm nearly 20 years old, and a full time college student. I know that doesn't seem like alot, because it isn't. But instead of sitting around posting on this board, I could be doing something really useful. I could be working on school related things, or meeting people. Who knows, I might even find a friggin' woman! I need to work on my "people skills" because the fact is, I really have none. I have a hard time meeting new people, and that's probably the reason I don't do alot of it.

So within the next week or so, I'll probably be hanging up my Massassi shoes for good, for the reason of "better things to do."

There is a life for each of us outside of the internet, and it's ending one day at a time. I'm just gonna go look for it. It's been fun.

No, I can tell you, that I won't be coming back. And I'm taking my soul with me.

This all comes about due to the fact that I'm getting a real expensive piece of film making equipment soon, and I think in order to justify that purchase, I really need to be more focused on my movies. I just need to start taking life a little more seriously, and that doesn't involve online forums in my POV.

I come around here for about 5 minutes a day, and post maybe once or twice a week.

It's not like you need to make a conscious decision to quit Massassi or anything. Just go do stuff, and post less often.

Yeesh. It's like people are addicted.

Maybe I caused some misunderstanding... this isn't about massassi.. it's about me spending too much time playing videogames, surfing the internet, and things like that.

I need to cut down on doing all of those things, and part of that "cutting down" is tossing massassi out the window.

He just doesn't seem to get it. People have sworn that they weren't coming back before. A LOT of people. Heck, look at Brian. He ditched Massassi altogether, now he's back hosting it :p

Amen.

Just visit here when you're not doing anything else. It's not like 'Massassi time! Gotta visit Massassi!', it's 'oh, I'm bored, online, have nothing else to do... think I'll visit Massassi'.

When is posting on a message board a sport or something like that? When was there dedication? I post most of the time when typing an essay or working with CAD, takes only a minute.

I joined ages ago, posted about twice, then left, but I came back ... it's true, nobody leaves. It's a bit like an unwanted contract really.

I knew I was lying when I posted that. I knew even before I posted it that I'd be back. Oh, and Sine was right. :(

Massassi has you forever, no matter how many times you claim the sites full of total idiots, or the page is "going down for ever" or you don't have time for it. You or it will always be back, because at the very least its entertaining!

See ya next week!

Hey now, you can have a life and still be on massassi, I'm a pretty busy gal, but it's just when you have some free time and nothing else to do, let's visit massassi.

I've made a few private commitments to leave massassi. never happened.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

The people that are truly serious about leaving, would do just that, and probably wouldn't waste their time trying to justify it to a forum full of people that they don't plan to associate with for much longer.
