Try signing in with Windows Messenger.. that worked for me when MSN Messenger was down and wouldnt let me sign in.

its usually on the list of program files.... i believe it comes standard with any computer running windows but if you dont have you can get it here

I don't know but there is a process taking up ~10 mb of memory that I can't seems to get rid of. I hate msmsgs.exe!
