well dice rolling can be fun if done in the right way. You need determination and a lucky charm. Catch my box of lucky charms.

munchkin sounds like fun but alas i have no one to play with. i like the world of magic. I find it mysterious and complex. Thats why i love video games envolving it.

Dormy and a few others had a game going on IRC... it was pretty fun but tough to schedule since we had two american time zones, finnish, and british to deal with =P

I'm with heer vedder into one particular IRC game, and I have a campaign going on into NWN(Close enough?) that I DM weekly every Wednesday.
The answer is maybe.

You fail your bluff check.

I play some RPs, but not as much as I'd like to. I've played Vampire: Masquerade a few times, and I currently have a DnD campaign rolling with happydud and some of his friends.

I am the rogue that couldnt hit the broad side of a barn.

what is the vampire thing you were talking about? I have a fascination with vampires and i was actually writing a book about them until i got writers block and stoped. i was 45 pages into it. It was alright but i know i could do better.

Vampire: The masquerade by White Wolf. You can probally find a handbook at your local chain bookstore (Borders, Barnes&Nobles). Its fun, it's more based on roll playing than actual fighting like D&D usually tends to be. Its alot darker, and vampirey, and its alot of funs.

Wait, so with Vampire, you roll dices to simulate combat while with D&D you actually hit each other with sword an' all? I really oughta reread the combat section.

(and could give a semi-rant on how no system is more 'based on roleplaying' than any other game, and that it really depends on the players if anything, but 'oi... let's not :p )
The answer is maybe.

Vampire can be combat-based. However, it's oriented much more towards use of powers and politics - combat in the World of Darkness belongs to the werewolves - a single werewolf with no experience points spent can kill 3 vampires fresh out of the character creation process.

Also, if you do get into Vampire and White Wolf games, do not play their new versions, Werewolf: The Forsaken and Vampire: The Requiem. Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse (revised editions) have better clan/tribe setups and a much better backstory, not to mention loads of more material.

thanks for the advice, and although werewolves may be stronger I still love vampires. To me vampires are creatures consumed by darkness; reigning over darkness and capturing the innocent. Im not saying that evil is my game but the fantasy they leave is there is a dark side to everyone whether or not they want to invoke it is well, up to them. They just bring that out in me. If you understood what I said then Thumbs up.

I used to have a dwarf that was so crazy. His name was Silimarion and he was a drunk, and had a voodoo doll and a shack near a village full of body parts from all my victims he killed. Sort of a melicious character but he was kool. i loved him.

I recently got the cellphone version of Baulder's Gate.

That means 3.5 rules, which, to me, basically seems like a dubbed down version of WoW.

It's fun to me, but I've never quite been into the whole "Dungeons and Dragons" deal. I ws into NWN for awhile, then I got out of it, it was too complicated to me.

It has been more than 10 years since I last time played D&D. The nostalgic briefcase filled with D&D stuff has served for years as a stand for my VCR... And a box filled with metal miniatures has collected fair amounts of dust on top of a shelf...

This is one of those fellas, Bugbear is his name...

Someone should really start another online game. I'd super love to play one that was cyber-punk/futuristically themed...like shadowrun or something else I've never even heard of

I'd roleplay, but noone in my area is into it and I can't play by myself...:(

Only encountered it in CRPGs; currently playing Icewind Dale 2 (D&D 3rd ed. rules). Muuuch better than the AD&D system in Baldur's Gate.
VTEC just kicked in, yo!

that sounds like a plan. i really want to play a role playing game again and it would bring all those people together, who do not have people to have role playing pleasure.
