The Army is a huge organization and has it's share of psychos. Too bad someone wants to put the blame on someone other than the murderer. Typical.

I'm starting to think that the internet gives us too much information. Now you can hear about every bad thing that happens not only in your state, but in the country, continent, and the world.

As Wookie06 said there are bound to be some psychotics and people with loose wits in the military, just as in any organization... Except these ones are given weapons and trained in deadly arts.

It says in there that his wife ratted him out to the military about an affair (I don't know what they would do about it though). For some people that is enough to push them over the edge.

My brother-in-law is a US Marine who is in Iraq right now. According to what he told my sister, when he arrived in Iraq, one of the marines went into the bathroom with his M16, shoved the barrel into his mouth, and pulled the trigger. Yeah, I would say there are psychos in the military, whether it be homicide or suicide. War does some crazy stuff to people. Can't say I blame them although I'm not justifying what they do to deal with their problem.

They could do many things from taking money and rank to restriction. Possibly even dishonorable discharge although probably only in extreme circumstances.

None of the circumstances he might have faced compare to what he will now certainly face.

Do they do any psychological tests before you join the army, to see if you would be mentally capable of handling war?
I know I wouldn't.

He might be trying to get off on insanity.

Seems like a good foundation to build up from.

Is this an unnecessary war? Probably.

Does shooting people affect you mentally? Definitely.

Can you blame the guy? Yes. Nobody can be excused for coldblooded murder under most circumstances. But this would never have happened if we didn't go to war.

Probably pleading insanity, or some derivative thereof.

What an ignorant statement...

Plenty of people shoot other people without going to war. And the very majority of people who come back from war don't do this.
