Yah, I know exactly what you mean... I probably swallowed about 2 liters of mucous during my electronics class, and the cold medicine is really screwing with my head.

"I like a cold because I get to do my favorite drug which is NyQuil. I love that stuff. What do the rest of you use, Robitussin? Robitussin why do you bother? Non-narcotic sissy pansy bull****! NyQuil's got the best thing I've ever read on a medicine package - 180 proof! It's the moonshine of medicine."

I hate colds. I never really used to mind them, but they always come at the worst times and it's the most frustrating thing ever. especially when it takes your voice forever to bounce back and you have to sing and...yeah
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

I don't. In fact, I'm the only person I know who isn't sick right now.

Tell me about it. My (ex) band had a show to do at our college back around Easter last year, and my cold had finally gone away 2-3 days before the show.

Practicing with a cold is next to impossible. The only good thing I found to do was to drop about two tablespoons of honey into a small coffee cup (not a big mug) and fill it about half way with hot water, and stick a slice of lemon in it. It's like a thick vocal-cord elixir thing, it really helped. And during the show, I had my 2 litre of Tropicana with me, and everyone kept laughing when I'd chug my orange juice between songs. :p

What pisses me off is when doctors prescibe antibiotics for colds. It's a VIRUS you moron... let's just expedite the creation of resistant bacteria while doing nothing to help the cold... It makes sense for more dangerous viral infections, but only because they can leave your immune system too weak to fight off a bacterial infection.

That's because most people aren't happy to wait something out -- they'd rather take drugs..even if it probably won't help them..lol

I had one of those 24-hour stomach viruses a couple of weeks ago. Pure hell. I vomited seven times in six hours. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Ugh.

Anyway, hope you get to feeling better soon, CadetLee. :)

some cold are caused by bacterial infections yes? so people go to the doctor to find out if thay have a bacterial infectionl. and then docror, if he is a good doctor, will reconise the difference, and only perdcribe med's and antibiodics as needed.
