Well, as you MAY know, I do extravagant things for my Halloween displays. Some times I need more time to develope it than others. For instace, Last year I did House of 1000 Copses, which I started planning nearly a year before hand. 2003, however, I did Texas Chainsaw, and that took about 2 weeks.
This Thred is to commemorate the start of something great, Halloween 2005.
Here's a breif history.
2003 - Leatherface. Me and my brother hand sewed the mask out of rawhide dog chews, so it was ACTUALLY a leather face. The leather face was then sewed on to an altered michael meyers mask (for the hair and ears). We then made a quick body suit, hung red lights and chains in the garage, got a chainsaw and a smoke machine and went at it.
2004 - House of 1000 Corpses. Things got a little more professional this time around. We actually had to make our own masks out of laytex. This required me to sculpt them in clay, then cast them in Ultracal-30. We also had to rig a pulley system to balance Dr. Satan's mechanical arms. For the display, we re-enacted the scene in House of 1000 Corpses when she stumbles upon Dr. Satan and Earl. so we had both costumes... including the dead guy Dr.Satan was operating on. Over all, it went over much better.
2005 - Legacy of Kain. Things seem to evolve each year. A few months ago, I got to work on a Stephin King Film entitled "Popsy". It wasn't a big production (one of his smaller releases) but it was still a good story. It was here I made my first Foam Laytex Appliance and Vampire Fangs. I used this experience this time around for my Halloween plans. This year will include Foam Laytex face appliances (what they use in film). I have just finished my Head sculpt for Kain (on MY life cast - yes, I WILL be Kain). It looks really good. Still to come are Raziel, Turel, and Malchiah. We are thinking of setting the garage up like the opening to SR1... the Pillars scene.
I will post Pictures here possibly tomorrow for your enjoyment.
