I love how the highest bid is only 25 bucks. The jewelry looks like it's at least 75-100...

You should try to get better pictures of the ring on your finger.
Good luck on the auction, and nice touch sending the link to the ex.

$146 was the original price, but after some discounts I got it for a little over $100. I put a $100 reserve on it and refuse to part of it unless I get my $$ back. Besides I know a few other girls who are September born who could receive it as a gift.

The first thing I did after putting up the auction was went to a bunch of college websites and posted it.

Nicely done sir.
2005-02-16, 2:53 PM #11
I also lost a friend after putting it up. My friend Emily got really pissed off and thought it was immature and said she didn't want to speak to me again. In her opinion I should have left the gift for my exgf.

Put it bluntly, if I give this gift to another September girl, I wanna be sleeping with her.

Personally, anyone who's been busted for cheating deserves everything they get. It's the lowest form of low, a massive amount of trust has been completely raped. For most civil people, it's the worst level of betrayal imaginable.

I think there are some people here who can help.
2005-02-16, 4:45 PM #13
You did this? Interesting. Sucks to be her, though I can't say she doesn't deserve it.

I think Emily's being a bit greedy. Seriously, why does a cheating girl deserve 150 dollars of gifts? But hey, I'm not trying to convince anyone, so good job on ignoring her (even if it means losing a friend. Though that does suck).

If nothing else, you get yourself a nice bottle of scotch.

Puh-leez, I have a $150 bottle of Scotch sitting in my bedroom already I need to get rid of. The thing I put in the eBay listing for a bottle of scotch was a joke. I'm gonna use that money on my car. Or food.

But if you guys want to, post it on other sites you have a name on. I posted it on every site I can remember.

Wolfy, thanks. It happens and, surprisingly, I really am not that upset about it. I'm not on a rebound, but it's just. Well, meh.

And Martyn, thanks.

But are you considering reserving the jewlery for another, but honest, girl in your future?

If so, don't tell her about the reason why you bought this jewelry in the first place.

why didn't you just pawn it?

I've hocked a lot of stuff and I got decent money for it. You would certaintly get more than you would at ebay.

No, just someone who would be more worth it.

My friend Teena offered to take it off my hands, and she was born in September.

But he can't publicly humiliate his ex by pawning it off, now can he?
2005-02-16, 8:04 PM #25
He could if he made a multimedia display of his journey to the pawn shop, in the pawn shop and the magical journey that he had after the pawn shop with the money he got from the pawn shop.

But seriously, I've been there, and, well, I understand your apathy.

why not? she deserves no better.

Originally I put in the eBay listing that the winner would get her Yahoo and AOL screen names, and her cell phone number (she signs into both on her cell phone cause she doesnt have a PC). The winner could then call her and thank her.

Send the link to fark.com and it just might get you a load of attention (and much higher bids). They've posted weird and humorous eBay auctions before.

Try sending a PM to Spork. I'm pretty sure he frequents Fark. I cannot think of any other Farkers off the top of my head.

Hypothetically speaking, does this imply that in an ideal world, you would like someone bid up to around $95 or so?

I fark, but you're way better off with Spork - he's a paying Total Fark member and holds way more clout than me. I've never had anything greenlit :(

Consider it submited.

To be honest I've posted something in the order of three links, but they've all been far more worthy than what was on that day

But anywaaays...

I browse a lot of news sites as part of my daily routine, so submitting links to Fark isnt really a hassle :)

The best one they turned me down for was one from my local news website where some kids had put dead pig up a telegraph pole (literally at the end of my street in York).

There was nothing even remotely as wierd/interesting that day...
