Ok, I'm having some real trouble with my other comp. I just started Starcraft Battle.net and eversince things have gone screwy. Whenever I start up I get like 5 SpyBot Resident messages in a row reporting changed values in the Browser category or something. I'm such an idiot I don't know what that means. I also get a notice that says windows detected suspicious network activity. I have and run AdAware, CCleaner, and SpyBot:Search and Destroy. But I don't think they get it all. Also, what exactly is reformatting and how do you do it? Sorry, I don't mean to cross post or anything, but I really need to fix this and I need the genious of Massassi. I am such a confused computer ignoramus. :(

Thanks for helping.

Have you scanned for viruses?

Formatting is wiping everything on your hard drive (well everything on a single partition). To fix your problems via formatting you need to format the drive with windows on it.

Which version of windows are you using?

If it's XP you can format using the installer. If it's 9x you have to format using command line.

As far as I know, it has never been scanned for viruses, so i was going to d/l AVG. It runs windows 98, so how would I reformat it if I had to? And is AVG enough? is there something else I need to d/l?
