Constantine

So far critics are rather 50/50 on this one. Noone has said it was horrible so far, people it seems either think it's okay or great...I hope to see it maybe after I see Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior. Thoughts? Reviews? Peanuts?

it looks like another matrix-style movie to me.

I'll wait until its on one of the movie channels. The only thing that looks impressive to me in this movie is the cinematography.

Keanu Reeves's acting from the trailers didn't look that good. But, I guess, its the trailers.

I'm going to see Constantine tonight. Looks alright.

Saw Ong Bak last Friday. Awesome movie.
2005-02-18, 2:36 PM #14
Keanu is soooooo not that character.

Something created by Alan Moore and than totally screwed up and changed to something different on a movie screen is nothing new though :P

At least it wasn't dumbed down to a PG-13.

I dunno. I think he's always like that, in every movie. Like a bit uncomfortable and detached.

The movie won't be here before the beginning of March, but it's most certainly one I will go and see. It looks like a movie with a vision, and that's already a reason enough to see it.

It kind of looks like a neat movie... I'd rather just play some Painkiller though.

Creative Loafing said the first 30 or so minutes were great, and then it rapidly went downhill. Their reviews are usually correct.

Keanu should have stuck to being Ted.

Atleast then he was cool. :P

It's a comedy, right? At least, that's what the trailers make it out to be.
2005-02-18, 7:20 PM #21
I'm going to see this regardless of the reviews. Hopefully tomorrow night.

I just got back from watching it. It was very well put together shotwise, although I noticed a lot of graininess from time to time. The special effects were really cool, the plot was good, and all in all, I thought this a very good movie for armchair mystics like myself.

it was actually very good. not expecting it to be as great as it was. i was delightfully suprised.

dont stay after the credits though. some lady in the theater said there was something special and it was just shia leboaf's characher flying to heaven as an angel

Just got back from watching. Having no prior experience with the Hellblazer mythos, it wasn't quite what I expected, which really turned out to be a good thing. The special effects were extremely well done, I think the casting was quite good, and, most importantly for this kind of flick, it doesn't take itself too seriously. All in all, a very entertaining movie.

I enjoyed it. For a comic book plot, it wasn't too cheesy, and Keanu Reeves as the lead did not ruin the movie. He has gotten slightly better as an actor. Rachel Weisz is hot as always.

Saw it last night. Loved the way they made Hell look like a post-apocalyptic Earth and Satan was a great character. Thought he was very well-done.

Keanu Reaves plays the role of Constantine well, in my opinion. All in all, a well-done movie in my book.

I plan on seeing this movie, primarily because the trailer for "A Scanner Darkly" is playing before it.

I think Keanu Reeves is hot. Constantine was quite good. I can't wait until A Scanner Darkly.

Bah, I thought it was crap. The plot was useless and didnt really make any sense, and every single character was either 2-dimensional or entirely boring. Yawn.

The only good things were the kid dying at the end, honestly didnt see that coming , and Constantine's style. The whole chain-smoking black suit black tie thing was groovy.

Everyone tells me it was about as good as the Matrix trilogy.

In which case it sucks, horribly.
