The P4--for gaming, ouch.

The RAM--should've gone for an AMD and gotten a gig. Still good, but could be better.

The GFX--not bad, could be better.

Probably a dell machine, though.

1) I don't :)

2) Because you've got a P4 3.0 ghz processor and a mid to low range PCI-E gfx card, and 512 MB of RAM.

:p

Ubuu--this thread really doesn't have a point, so I decided to tell him about his computer's specifications. I didn't insult his computer (and it really is quite above average, this is just coming from a guy who has extremely high standards in PCs)

Did he ask for ANYTHING? It's just a random thread to present his current computer's specs. Read above post.

Like I said, it really is quite a good comp. Especially if you plan on doing more intensive encoding and whatnot.

Technically, it doesn't, because with P4 temps, the throttle kicks on when any performance hit would show its head. So you guys are pretty much on par.

There is no shame in owning one. My mom owns a Dell (probably the same machine you have). I have no real qualms with mom's PC.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

All this talk of new computers and upgrading is making me seriously consider upgrading my machine.

My PC is best so far. :D 1 GIG RAM, Radeon 9800 pro, Athlon 64 3200+.

It kills me to say this ;), but Yosi is right. Still, he could have been a bit more tactfull. Still, it's not a bad system, but if he really wants to do any serious gaming he'll need to upgrade the video card. But other than that it'll work fine. What did it cost you?
