If you are into flight simulations I absolutely garentee this demo. Give it a try or just try it anyways and have some fun.

C is cannon, hit 7 or 8 or something and you can fire rockets from the su-25.

Screenshots to come next time I load it up here. The flight model is amazing and so is the damage model. You can check out the game and if you sign up get the demo from:

http://www.lockon.ru/index.php

If you play the demo please leave your impressions here.

I've heard this game is so complicated that once you've mastered it, you could practically fly a real airplane with little trouble.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Proof that I can't fly.

Really the game can be as simple or as non-simple as you want it to me. I think the game is greatly simplified command and detail wise compared to Falcon, but the game is great fun.

Can you shoot and drop missles? Or are those 'just for show?'

No, you can, this is a sim. A combat sim. Sims look like they can be really fun if you master them and have the right hard ware, but I've been trying for years and still haven't. :p Still, the graphics are superb.

It's modern warfare. You can use all the hardware fight pilots in those planes could to guide your bombs onto the target with precision. The rocks on the SU-25 (not in the demo) even spiral when fired like the real things. Pretty much you think of it in life and it is in the game. More the rule than the exception although of course you'll find exceptions.

Well I had a go of LOMAC, and thought it was junk. If you want a REAL sim :P, try Falcon 4 with Super Pak 4. THAT is a sim. Anything else is a toy.

Instead, everyone go by falcon 4.0. It basically comes with a real flight manual as the game manual

Falcon 4 is just annoying.

http://www.thebattlefieldconnection.com/Downloads/LOFCdemo.exe

bittorrent download for demo 1.1:
http://torrentspy.com/search.asp?mode=torrentdetails&id=173911

That's a better link if you want a faster download. Someone on simhq.com said it took them 10 minutes off that url.

Getting the manual for lock-on off their main website isn't too bad though since it is a much smaller file.

PS. 1.1 is really not very buggy. The only buggy part of lock-on is the regular game without the 1.02 patch. 1.1 is even better off than 1.02 and runs faster also at least for me. Just don't turn the water setting up too high and you should be good.

Yea I did. Either there was something wrong with my computer, or the game just sucks. It was lagging like crazy and the only thing I could get to work properly was a training sim that I didnt even have control of the plane in.

Depends on your system specs. I bought it when I had a 2.4ghz and a gf4ti4200 and I could run it at 25fps on medium.

You really need something better though with ram so it doesn't stutter. What settings did you try, you can fiddle with things and it should work better unless you just have too old of a system.

Bump and warning to those who will or have downloaded the demo.

It has a version of starforce on it so when you uninstall the game I also recommend you go to the starforce website:
http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55

I've had no problems with this, but if you previously installed the game I figured you should know if you do have something against starforce or just simply have no use and need to clean off the files.

There is nothing wrong with my screenshot. Lock-on beats even the top FS2004 mods for scenery and detail, especially in detail to the environment. You won't find a better looking simulation out there, anywhere.
