NHL lockout ends
2005-02-19, 12:23 PM #1
NHLPA and teamowners reached a compromise, I've yet to read about its details however. The bottom line is that NHL will be played this season.

The Finnish hockey league team I favor is screwed. :/ Their key players comprise of NHL players this season, and the playoffs start in March.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

*********!

Seriously, countless middle and low class citizens have lost revenues and even jobs because of these greedy ****tards. They have absolutely no consideration for them, and it really pisses me off.

The only reason these greedy ****s are so persistant is because at the end of the average 3-4 year "career", they can't afford to keep their mansions and cars any more.

So they are having a season? I just read/saw last...Wednesday that they axed the season.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Let's rewind to like 4 minutes ago when I hadn't yet started this thread...I trusted second-hand information. :p

The lockout ending is NOT official, but they're negotiating again and apparently, this time there's a lot of hope for the season starting.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Yeah, I've been looking for news sources and haven't found anything. :p I knew the negociations had restarted, I was kind of surprised to hear about this so soon though. They're planning on doing in two-three days what they weren't able to do in five months.

exactly, that pisses me off too.

If you're making several million a year, then what the hell do you need a union for?

They'll still end up getting millions more then they deserve. Sure, professional sports are VERY VERY intense, but these peoples salaries are through the roof.

yeah, you know something is f***ed up when our athletes get paid more money than a lot of our neurosurgeons get.

Someone has to get all the revenue professional sports teams generate. Do the athlete's not deserve a large portion?

Frankly, some don't. At least they shouldn't deserve ridiculous amounts. It's about the $ more than the game these days.

They generate that money by overpricing everything by 10 folds. That "someone" should be us. Cheaper tickets, more services etc.

There's is no deal yet. I'm following this closely, believe me.

Sadly, the owners dug themsleves into this hole, and they are taking it out on the players. The owners are bithchng about not making enough money when they are the ones who allowed player salaries to skyrocket (the top salary for an NHL player doubled over night about 6 years ago).
Pissed Off?

The amount of popular athletes is very low compared to the amount of neurosurgeons.

I'm glad, I've hated the NHL for a long time, the way that the players, and owners have acted and ran the league respectively, they deserve to lose a season. Lets hope they get the picture.
