Okay, I want some advice from you lot. Some suggestions.

I enjoy slaughtering innocent civilians. In computer games, too! I spent hours torching old people in Max Payne 2, or nuking cities in Generals, but such moments are few and far between. I was dissapointed with Manhunt, unsatisfied by GTA3, and Postal 2... just wasn't very good. I've pretty much exhausted Carmageddon 2 and Soldier of Fortune 2. Bearing in mind I want to kill things that won't fight back, like the hobos in Max Payne 2, and I want the killings to be thoroughly satisfying, what do ye suggest? Perhaps some violent game I haven't heard of, or some mod that makes an existing game killoriffic.
My bloodlust needs slaking.

I only do things in games which are useful for me.

Everything else is irrelevant.

Painkiller is the only game you will ever need.
Think while it's still legal.

Back in the day I used to play the demo of a game called 'postal' a lot. It was pretty brutal: the objective was to creatively slaughter every innocent dude in town. It's kind of old though, and probably outdated: you can put flame to everyone you want, but the graphics won't show you exactly, with real life animation and insane pixel detail, the torture your victim goes through.

Get Star Wars Battlefront and blow up all the jawas and ewoks! Yay!
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

I played Postal, but the controls were loopy and there were too many people shooting at me. Yes, I played SoF1, but again, not enough harmless civilians to kill.

postal 2 is about as gratituous as it gets these days... however, they are working on a postal 3, or so I hear.

Yes, but Postal 2 was terrible. Well, killing campaigners against violent video games was quite amusing, but the awful engine just ruined it otherwise. The only thing that was good about it was the gasoline trail fire thing.

The Punisher. This game has some of the coolest deaths I've ever seen in any game. Shoving people into wood chippers and meat grinders, throwing them into pihrana/electric eel tanks, beheading them with industrial laser cutters and table saws...the list goes on and on. It's supposed to have over 100 unique interrogations/deaths, but I didn't really bother counting.

Wasn't the StP engine based on the UT engine?

Although amazing, things fight back sadly :(

Deus Ex has a lot of civillians, and because of the open ended ness, you can get away with killing a LOT of them. Just have to be stealthy.

Cool. What about Deus Ex 2?

Also, Punisher isn't released yet. :( Not until April or something.

Of course. Why wouldn't it :p Well, on PC at least.

PC games have no 'region', only console games.

I've been playing this game for the past 19 years. It's the most realistic thing I've ever seen! I'm suprised that no other games have been able to put its graphics to shame yet. I forget what it's called. Think it's something like loaf or rule word, maybe real loaf. Meh...

I never said anything of the sort.

I said that the justice system shouldn't give in to the people's bloodlust. They can satisfy their bloodlust through violent computer games or movies. People are going to have urges and desires, and trying to 'supress' them is only unhealthy. It is for this reason that I think it likely that violent computer games may well decrease crime rates; someone that is feeling the urge to kill can satisfy that urge, to some degree, through a computer game. Now it's unlikely to do anything in the long-term, for serial killers or the like, but it could very well help with 'heat of the moment' type murders, in that the individuals expresses their momentary rage in a computer game, rather than out on someone else.

So, nice try, but no.

have you tried manhunt?

The gameplay isn't that great, the graphics are typical of a console port, and it gets repetitive, but it is pretty violent. some stores around here refuse to carry it.

I second that.

Although, it doesn't surprise me so much coming from you, MortHog...I mean, I remember you posted about how suicide bombings are noble and "romantic" (yes, I remember you used that word in particular).

I was unimpressed by Manhunt. The violence really wasn't very violent at all, a red spray that was somehow supposed to be blood, and no model deformation other than beheadings. Though it might've been good when you first see it, you'd end up seeing exactly the same animation 100 times. A lot more weapons and a lot more executions would've made Manhunt considerably more interesting, but wouldn't've made up for the incredibly basic stealth mechanics. That said, it did get quite good near the end.
