Everytime I try to add all of my songs to winamp I get TONS of multiples of every single song. The songs I have listened to most have more multiples such as:

Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
Eagles - Take It Easy
Eagles - Take It Easy
Eagles - Take It Easy
Eagles - Take It Easy
Eagles - Take It Easy

That's basically what my playlist looks like, so I have to manually go and delete the songs that have multiples like that. Why does it do this and how can I change it? My guess is something to do with the shuffle function so the ones youve listened to get picked more often? Well I don't want that because I add songs I enjoy from other computers that dont have multiples. Anyone who suggests another player dies.

This kind of thing happends when the file has been moved to the folder changed somehow.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Try erasing your library then adding them all back again.

Nono, I figured it out. It turns out when I was selecting the files I was adding previous playlists as well with some of the songs on them.

Obviously, winamp is trying to tell you to listen to more Eagles. :D

There should be an option in the playlist editor to "remove duplicates"

As for why this is happening - how do you add songs? Drag and drop? Running winamp -q SONGNAME.mp3?
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Multiple playlists my ***. You clearly downloaded several people's music folders for various artists and you have duplicate files.

I get this problem with winamp where it displays the bands name twice:

band - band - song.

and I view the file info the title on either tags (or both) is blank. even when I knew there was a title in because I put them in.

For some reason, you can delete threads, but not posts.
