I liked it, too, and eagerly look forward to Half-Life 3.

Maybe the G-Man spared Alyx and her dad...maybe...

Even if he didn't, I want Dog in HL3.

Poor Alex.

The g-man seems to be a really sneaky b******, so I doubt he would bother to help Alex and Eli..... He probably only helped Gordon b/c gordon is of use to the G-man.

I wonder what happened to breen... he was in that forecfield bubble, so maybe he survived the explosion.


However, you are forgetting the most important thing: DID LAMAR SURVIVE?!? ;)

Lamar isn't the one we need to worry about.
What's vital to the story of the next game is whether or not the OTHER Eli's from HL1 are still alive???

Screw Lamar.... my favourite character was Dog's ball. I rescued it with the gravity gun and brought it inside during the attack. I thought it was cute.

Those were easy to kill. Just pick them up with the gravity gun and shoot them into the nearest body of water.

Speaking of the gravity gun, is there a mod or a way to get the super gravity gun (like you get in the "Our benefactors" chapter) early in the game? I love picking up combine and then throwing them into their friends and knocking them all down.

I'm glad for that, actually. The Gordon/Alyx relationship was artfully done, in that it was subtle and not blatantly shoved in your face. Alyx never just says "OMG I LOVE YOU" or anything. And... Stuff. Yeah. I just thought the way it was done was cool.

In the weeks following Half-life 2's release, Gabe said that Alyx would be a playable character in Half-life 3. I think it's still rumor but that'd be pretty sweet if it's true.

Why would you play as Alyx? Thats just dumb. For HL3 you have to play as Gordon... if there is a game where you play Alyx it ought to be called Half-Life 2: Opposing Alyx Shift, or something like that.

Supposedly an Alyx expansion is in the works, but set chronologically before HL2. I dunno how true that is, but it's been going around for a while, and supposedly some UK pc magazine had some info on it, but I honestly have no idea

Can anyone explain to me why all the headcrab zombies are wearing white shirts? It's a bit repetitive. All the things Valve spent time on in the game, they could have atleast made zombies with different clothes. *shrug*

Most of the citizens (in the earlier chapters before the **** hits the fan) all wear the same clothes; I guess the citizens in ravenholm wore white shirts and jeans

I think the fact that the citizens all wear the same clothes is to eradicate all sense of personal identity among the people. Plus, a convenient excuse to do less texturing.

that elicited quite a chuckle my good fellow.

actually it was more like sporadic demonic laughter which i tried to keep quiet. i also had a crazed look in my eyes when i laughed, i imagine. it sure as hell felt like it.

no, its not. I'd love to find out what happened from Alex's pov in black Mesa east after Gordon left for ravenholm . A lot happens between the beginning of the "We don't go to ravenholm" chapter and when you meet alex again in nova prospekt, enough for a small game in and of itself.


It would make a great spin-off, IMO.

A spin-off, yes, like Opposing Force or Blue Shift, but not part of the main gameplay in HL3. It'd detract from the continuity, in my opinion.

Gordon Freeman made the game, but Alyx will break the game. Stick to the nerdy scientist hero and not the hot female side character.
