Just got Tekken 5 yesterday and played it for 5 hours straight. It's really awsome game and I love the Devil Within mode. Now my left thumb and my right index hurt and it hurts just to type. I think I'm laying off the game for the rest of the weekend....

Anyways, let's hear what everyone else has to say about it.

I want it, and if I had it, I'd kick your arse with either Paul, Jin, or King (once I'd mapped the pad so I can pull off all the mulitparts ;))

:p

I love Tekken 4, and will buy Tekken 5 only once (a)it's out here, I've not looked so don't actually know, and (b)when I've got my project handed in on the 11th of March.

I only just heard about the just-frames stuff until a few weeks ago, but all the demos on the net that help you are recorded at 60fps, not the 50fps of the European version! How rude!

Is Jin still doing traditional Karate, and not the Mishima stuff? He was the daddy in Tekken 4.

(Although I'm a Paul perfectionist at heart, and have been since the first Tekken)

I can't remember what his name was, but I ***** with that guy who did Tae-kwon-do in Tekkan2

Other than that, I own with that brazillian guy and paul.

Baek? If it's him you're thinking of, he has a lot in common with Hworrang (sp?!) - if it's Bruce you're thinking of, he's a lot like Bryan (but they have less in common than the other two).

Hworrang, that's his name! Thanks :D

No probs! He doesn't have enough low attacks for me, and is too easily reversed, parried, or dodged - I like to mix up more than is possible with Hworrang really.

Bah, no one stands to the power of Bryan Fury

Edit: And Feng Wei, he's a lot of fun to use.

Bryan's only got one low hard hitter: that big sweep (I think it's down-towards and LK) - and no decent juggle starters - that one just floors them...

Jin, Paul, Nina are my big three, and King (purely for flair) too.

:D

I do also love using Ling, because nobody suspects the little girl that has no obvious hard hitting moves.... <.<

Actually that's what his 10 hit combo is for..... and they also changed some moves for the characters(Bryan doesn't have a 4 punch combo anymore :( ).

As for Feng Wei, you definetly don't want to get down low, he has some very good stomp attacks and his forward-down left-right punch throw is amazing to watch.

I can't wait :D

Just looking at the websites: they've brought back some old school Tekken 2 characters, Baek, Wang (titter) and Ganryu to mention a few!

I also had a quick looksee at a movelist, it's good to see someone like Jun in it again: <3 White heron starter combos! Also, it looks like Devil Jin has that starter as well! 'Ave it!

Gah, it will take too long for it to be released here :(

But I would have wanted them to recreate Tekken 1 & 2 & 3 enginewise instead of just putting the Arcade versions in... oh well.

Not Hworrang but Hwoarang

That's the badger. Anyway, Baek's in T5, so I'll be insterested to see the differences (please don't let them be ports of each other like T2 hidden characters!)...

The nappy they had him in at the end of Tekken 4 made me laugh.

'How should we make the final boss look really intimidating?'

'hmmmmm....'

'I KNOW!'

'A NAPPY!'

Yeah, nice one namco...

I could own you all with all the characters! Even the hidden ones! WRAA!

Then again, I'm one to talk. I may not be a fan of the Tekken series, but I'm obsessed with old school CPS-2 fighters. :p

I'm probably going to pick this one up after skipping Tekken 4. I hear Tekken 5 includes the first 3?

Indeed it does....

And to those who really want to know how Heihachi survived:

He was still caught in the explosion and he was thrown several miles from Honamaru and landed in the forest what looked like to be a graveyard. He then climbed out and got mad because someone else was now running his company and tournament.

If you want to find out on your own, you have to play through the game as newcomer Raven.

Bah, this made me unplug the megadrive, plug IN the PS2, and some git's lost my Tekken 4 disc. I am now unhappy.
