Remember Virtual Boy?
2005-02-26, 7:24 PM #1
I was just sitting around today, and recalled my memories of the Virtual Boy. I specifically remember it at the stores, and having to crane my neck upwards to play it. I thought it was the coolest thing, so the eventual blinding pain didn't matter. Now, did anyone here have a Virtual Boy?

All I remember was the demo with Wario in all the stores...and Tennis too. I was going to bye one, but I ended up buying some fake handheld thing.
Think while it's still legal.

That tennis game was pretty damn fun. I remember playing that in a store somewhere.

I had it, with Mario Tennis (which ROCKED), Wario (which SUCKED), and Teleroboxer or whatever it was called (Which was hard but ROCKED).

It wasn't a bad concept, just the idea of how you would play it didn't work out well.

I had one with Red Alert (or Alarm?), Tennis and Wario. It was just too painful to play and wasn't worth the trouble after a while.

Apparently, the real reason Nintendo took it off the market was not because it was hard to use, but because it spread head lice.

The sad part is, I'm not sure if that's you being facetious, or if it's the truth.

actually it had to do with lack of sales due to the following things

overpriced... $180
lack of games because nintendo didn't want too many 3rd party devs to possibly release crap games
the fear of eye damage in young children
poor marketing
PLAYSTATION it came out the same year

I know why it got cut, I could just see Nintendo recalling and cancelling it for the reason DS posted.

I remember I was like 5 when they came out and I saw them in Target one day... one phrase popped into my head.
"WTF?"

I remember playing one at Sears, I don't know the game but it was wireframe with red lines. And it had a space ship...in a corridor...or something.

Never owned one, but I saw one once. I thought it looked rediculous.
