Has anyone ever noticed that the "submit" button cannot get focus? It's clickable, but it never gets focus. Of course the implication of this is that you can't send a post with a keyboard alone. I was using one of the computers in the lab last week, learned that the mouse was not functioning, and I was too lazy to switch computers, so I went on with the keyboard alone. All was well until I went to submit a long post and discovered that slippery submit button can't get focus! :p

Works for me too

You're telling me you can use the keyboard to get focus on the submit button? I've tested this in Mozilla and Firefox and so far no tacos.

You could always tab to another form field and hit enter.

And no, I can't get focus on the submit button either.

Well I'll be damned, Vinny you're a genius. Still, that's really counter-intuitive.

test

It does get focus but I can't see the outline

Okay, it actually DOES get focus, but ONLY if you click it. And you can't see the outline. However, you CANNOT get focus with the keyboard. It goes from the bottom checkbox to the link called vbcode or somesuch, skipping the submit and preview buttons.

Hrm. I have the same setup except I'm using Firefox version 0.9.2 instead of 1.0.1. You think that could be it?

By the way, the order for me is: title, message, submit, preview and then ad-banner and down from there the other items in visible order

You could always just use the access key; "alt+s"...
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Let me see...

Yep, I can post using the keyboard by simply tabbing to the next field and hitting enter.

That's what I alsways do. Forums without this function are stupid (gaia online is a good example).

Focus?
DO NOT WANT.

Yeah, press tab on your keyboard and notice the little dotted box surrounding stuff like hyperlinks and form elements (like buttons, checkboxes, etc). An element is said to have focus if the keyboard can currently activate it. The mouse is slightly different in that usually focus and activation are simultaneous. And yes, James Bond you are right. I have no idea how I failed to notice that earlier.

Works fine for me, as it always had. Even using the same version as you, on 2 different PCs.
