They should make a game called "Sim President"

Think of it.

You are put in charge of one of the worlds greatest countrys.

In SIM president you can.

1.) Raise taxes.

2.) start a nuclear war

3.) take alot of vacations to camp david

4.) Negotiate with UN officials. (and yell at them)

5.) Erase 30 minutes of scandal tapes against you

6.) take command of the space program.

7.) Drive the country into the ground.

8.) and much much more.

Heck even add in a minigame with kerry and bush beating each other up in a boxing ring.

It's already been made, and its called "Shadow President." It's an old, but good game (over 10 years old by now). You play as the president of the US, and it takes place shortly before the first Gulf War, during the period when tensions with Iraq were heightening. I remember I always used to take over Canada first, it was hilarious because the US Forces suffered barely any casulties.

No rudeness intended, but what the hell does that have to do with anything?

There are a million factors out there that severely obscure, if not break, the link between being president and being competent and/or intelligent.

Here we go again. Unfortunately, many people feel the need to inflate their own egos and "intelligence" by saying that Bush is ignorant and stupid. You may not agree with the way he is handling things, and he may not be the smartest president, but he is certainly not stupid. What IS stupid is losers who think they are being so smart and witty by mocking the intelligence of someone they happen to disagree with. Good move.

I think what Sarn_Cadrill was trying to say is that some of you people try to act all superior in intelligence to the one you are mocking, when in fact, your snide comments make you appear even worse.

You start listing, I'll start counting.

Casper: Just take the UN out of it altogether. It does nothing in reality so what the hell is it going to do in a video game?
2005-03-01, 9:45 PM #20
I think in most cases when someone uses "idiot" (like now) in such a context it's done colloquially; "incompetent," "inable/inept," or "unable to handle current situations" would be inferred. Not the literal "unintelligent," though that might be thrown in there.

...In which case it'd be perfectly reasonable. It's just an expression "I think he's not capable of dealing of the current situation properly." It's not like you're required to be perfectly tactful or politically correct all the time. Speaking in such a way doesn't necessarily mean, literally, "he sucks because he is inferior in intelligence to me, therefore I'm awesome".

well see after invading canada... which i would easily be able to do early in the game... i'd have room to build a crapload of military facilities and make my massive army... then after taking russia and all that over with a surprise attack by sending all my forces in northern canada over there by sending them north... they would never see it coming
eat right, exercise, die anyway

It was great, because it was only my second ever time playing!

I think this thread was kinda geared towards the direction it took from the starting gate.
