Nice. And you did get a very good deal. I just saw that case on ThinkGeek for ~$280.

it's not BTX... it's ATX... you just mount the board upside down. :p The power supply being on the bottom makes everything all jabberwocked..

You're still planning on getting all your parts from Computerfest, eh? GL on that, hope you don't massively overpay.

Nice case though, cool design.

He won't.

Nice case, ripe for modding (if that's your thing, which, iirc, it is ;))

I'm not sure what I'll do to it... with it being mesh on 4 sides, I'm thinking some strategic internal lighting... Maybe a window mod if I get crazy... :) It'd be the most expensive case I've ever modded myself. so.. egh..

What happened to the good ole' trusty beige box? That things got so many vent holes on it it looks like a screen door! just be careful with tonic, etc. around it.

One feature I do like about it is the sideways mounting drive bays - I never liked having to get my fingers all in there to swap out a hard disk. Good luck with it and let us know how you like it.

You just have to mount the mobo funny... I'm not 100% sure how it works... But I know it's ATX formfactor.

The PC60 is already modded. It came modded though. It cost WAY more than this case... Prometia cooling systems are expensive. :p

You just spent almost $200 on a metal box to hold your computers parts.... *shakes head*

It beats spending $30 on a cheaply constructed, low quality, fugly case.
2005-03-03, 5:04 PM #20
That's the kind of case I would go for, simply because of the ingenious layout (power at the bottom, cards at the top).

You are a very bitter, angry, rude person. You need a good crack across the face with a belt like they did it in my day.

I mean if he has the money to waste, and it makes him happy go for it. I just don't see the logic behind buying a $200 box to hold the components of your computer. The case I have now was around $20 - $30, it does what it is supposed to do..it holds the parts of my computer (and it's damn sexy). The only way I can see that being practical is if you go to a lot of LANS or if you are always moving around your PC, then you'd want a pretty hefty case so you don't accidently break something.

Well the case is damn sturdy, judging by the reviews, and it's got an interesting and seemingly more efficient placing of the components.

Not to mention, Yecti has the money to spare. Trust me, he does. Lucky SOB

Obviously it's a quality product, but that's $200 of quality. It just seems overpriced. I remember once seeing a $500 dollar case, and I had to double check it! I can't imagine a person spending $500 on a computer case. I can picture Aaron paying $200 for a case, because he's a wack-job (No, he is...I have the papers to prove it!). Still, $200...you could spend that on better things like...electric toothbrushes, those little octopus shaped head rubbers, or laser beams.

I wouldn't say to spare. I'm budgeting myself around 1000 dollars to build this PC. So I'm down to around 800 now to spend on the rest of it... maybe 9.

I'm still trying to get to Computerfest. If I don't get to go this year, I'm 90% sure I will be there next year. The chances of me going are looking better and better for this year though. I might see you there, yay!

I haven't been working as a technical engineer for almost 9 months now. School is too hard to have that much of a workload. I've been operating a tech bench instead. Much less money, and as such, much less to spend. :(
