Yeah, it was pretty obvious when a giant glowing cross appeared on neo's chest.

Neo It's a glowing cross, they were selling them for pennies on the dollar at HSN.

Neo paralelled Christ since the first movie, so it didn't bother me at all.

That, and Neo died... was resurrected... and then at the end, you see him "ascending". while in Revolutions, the only Christ parallel that I noticed was the fact that he died to save everyone.

I think the more important question to ask is: wtf was going on with the nipple twisting in the goth club scene and how did Persephone manage not to just pop right out of her dress?

I never really got the whole christ thing with Neo either, it seemed like a bit much of a stretch. So he died for everyone else. Big deal, so did Arnie in T2, Ripley in Alien3 Bruce Willis in Armageddon etc etc

I picked up on the martyr references, I just never paid them any attention or understood why it was such a big thing as it isn't exactly an innovation to have the hero die in a self-sacrificial way. eg the movies I listed before.

Well, it wasn't like a game. It's just their purposes. The architect doesnt get anything out of winning or losing, because he doesnt accept that he can understand feelings, like the oracle does.

But the entire point was that they were trying to end the war, and they said in the 1st movie that the oracle was the leader of the resistance, so why wouldnt she be 'vs' the creater of the world she is trying to abolish? it makes perfect sense to me.

Yeah Neo was a Christ figure, no doubt, but what i found very interesting about the movie was the other refrences to Mythology in the story.

What i also found interesting was that The Oracle is a "bad guy".
