So far I've purchased the following for my car:

1 pair of 6x9 Rockford Fosgate 3 way speakers, T1693C
1 pair of 4x6 Rockford Fosgate 2 way speakers, T1462C
1 pair of 5.25 Rockford Fosgate 2 way speakers, T152C
1 Rockford Fosgate 5.3x Car Amplifier

And this is just for the inside of my car. I still am trying to find what stereo I want to put in, and might buy another amplifier. Then of course there are the subwoofers I am gonna put in my trunk.

Thing is, my stereo system (like everything else) is complex. So I'm gonna put the speakers in and probably the amp, but the radio is gonna be hard. Best Buy is gonna love when I show up with this stuff and say "Get it working".

Oh, and total price for all that stuff? Around $100. I have like 30 old, out of print martial arts books I am selling on eBay for about $25-$35 a piece. I've already made $160 off of 4 orders (1 guy got like 4 books for $50 cause none were out of print). The Klingon book went for $30, and some others. I'm using this money to go into my new stereo system.

The books also cost me like $4 a piece at a local bookstore over a 4 year period.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

YES finally someone who isn't stupid. You bought new speakers and subs. I hate people who buy only subs, then leave the POS stock/blown speakers in their car. What is the point?

btw good lookin' on the deal

<Anovis> mmmm I wanna lick your wet, Mentis.

7 speakers? I can see 2 in the front, and 2, maybe 3, in the back. Where do the other 2 go?

Also, having an awesome stereo system is great. Just please don't be one of those *******s that have their bass all the way up so they can piss off everyone within a 3 block radius.

I am replacing all my speakers. I have 6 inside my car.

6x9 back window
5.25 1 in each door
4x6 Front dash

I haven't purchased any subs yet though. And I'm only buying this for 2 reasons. 1.) To party with on occasion. 2.) When I pull up to a light and I hear some retard bassing his music like that, I'm gonna pop in N Sync or the Backstreet Boys and bass mine out just to piss him off. When you make me listen to bad music, I'm gonna make you listen to bad music.

Now that I fully support. May I make a suggestion? I've found that Cookie Monster's "C is for Cookie" gets a good reaction.

DrkJedi82, what are those?

Chaz, I accept any suggestions. And yes, that song will definately be on the CD. My friend Chris and I use to blast Disney songs in his car. That song, Acunamatata or whatever from the Lion King was his favorite. I'm gonna play I Will Survive whenever I race.

reusable ear plugs... the kind designed to be used at concerts so your ear are protected but you can still enjoy the music

Nice. Can I get those at like Home Depot or Best Buy or something?

probably not... if anything home depot would have over the ear hearing protection... guitar shops might carry them... or you can go just about anywhere and get the standard foam earplugs... but those aren't as good for concerts... great for sleeping though

I've seen them in pro audio shops. I almost bought myself a pair for rehearsing.

Is this so you can share your music with people at the stop light, or so you can try out hearing aids when you're forty. ;)

Anyone who listens to music loud enough to require that many speakers shouldn't be on the roads. Next to sight, hearing is your most important sense on the road.

Word!

Why spend so much money on stereo in you car? Seems silly to me - are you really in your car THAT much?

Spend it on your own home's audio!

My car comes standard and stocked with that many speakers. I am just replacing them.

Keep in mind, I live at home with the PBFH mother. Bringing hot girls in my house and listening to music and the 50 inch HDTV with sattellite, DVDs, etc would require the PBFH being out for the night. And by night, I mean until like the next day. However, using it to do stuff with my car allows it.

Again, I don't plan on making people listen to my music every time I stop. I just wanna put this stuff in there for when I am out partying or clubbing.

I bought a Sony deck from Best Buy like 8 years ago. I also bought the extended warranty for some reason. Good thing I did, the volume control stopped working after about 3 years. About a month before the warranty ran out I finally got into the store, and they gave me a nice panasonic replacement which retailed for about $50 MORE than what I originally paid. Not too shabby.

Do you know what the decibal rating is on those?

I do need soem good concert plugs...

You have just wasted alot of money.

I would have bought components for the front, maybe some 6x9's for the rear, amped all four (or six if you consider components to be 2 speakers each), then stuck a sub in the back. it's all you really need, and really you don't even need the 6x9's unless you have passengers. you want the sound stage to be in front of you!

Why would you blast bad music back? You're supposed to play something good, something timeless, some classic rock or something. Let everyone know your taste in music is better than theirs.

To show that if they want to make me listen to bad music, I'll make them listen to bad music.

Ok ok, I'll toss in a copy of Beethoven's 5th or something.

I am. I usually am in my car for at least an hour every day..it's worth it. :)

My car has a Pioneer head unit, Pioneer 5.25"s in the front doors (one hardly works..the other does, but they're running off the HU and I hardly hear them anyway)..two JBL P-632 6.5" speakers running off a 760w Pioneer amp (rear deck), and a Pioneer 12" sub running off another 760w amp..pic at www.cardomain.com/id/cdtlee84 -- it's worth it. :)
