im a tea drinker.

and all this time i thought you brits were crazy. i can't decide wether i like putting honey or lemon in with it more. it's great without anything in it, but it wakes me up a lot better if its a tad sweet.

so yes, any other tea drinkers? any ideas/favorite things you put in it?

I really enjoy Tea. Chai Tea, Green Tea, and if you want to try something with an awesome flavor White Tea! As for things I put in it...well I drink my tea regular, so nothing for me :)

Ice green tea in a can for 99 cents > *

Odd I know, but the orientalese people at the corner store sell iced green tea in a can for 99 cents, and it rocks.

Sobe and Snapple make good green tea, because it's sugarized, fattenized, and amercan-ized, the patriotic way. :p 'Real' tea tastes flat and boring to me.
DO NOT WANT.

I can only drink iced tea.

Actually, tea IS originally from China.

http://www.stashtea.com/facts.htm Read the history of tea here. It's quite interesting!

I rarely put anything into my tea, unless I'm making chai.

I recommend not only trying green tea and white tea, but different varieties as well. Darjeeling is considered the 'champagne of tea'. Pu erh is black tea that has been buried in a cave and aged for many years, giving it an earthy flavour (literally - it tastes like dirt and smells like a wet cave, but it's good). Earl Grey is black tea with oil of bergamot, which is a type of orange.
Gunpowder green tea is green tea that has been rolled into little balls, resembling gunpowder. It has a stronger, smokey flavour. You can also get green tea scented with jasmin, which is very nice.
White tea can be hard to find. I've only been able to find bai mu dan and sow mee. Their flavours differ quite a bit.

Tea is the best drink ever. I don't put anything in my tea, and some of my favorites are Earl Grey, Licorice, and constant comment.

I usually don't put anything in it anymore, though I used to put in sugar + milk. Back then I didn't like plain tea.

As a matter of fact, I'm drinking tea right now! :)

Believe it or not Trader Joes sells White Tea. The closest Trader Joes is like 2 hours away from my house though. (Trader Joes is a place that sells all the awesome stuff you don't usually find at normal shopping stores)

Flirbnic, do you know where I could order some of these teas? I am interested in the Pu erh the most.

I dislike Tea. I dislike Coffee. Tea seriously tastes like very SLIGHTLY flavored hot water to me. Sorry, but I find that... well... not worth drinking. And Coffee is just... bleh... I don't like it.

Tea, and the watered down crap you get at restaraunts are two very different things.

Good tea is awesome. If it's just plain old tea, I'll drink it hot with some milk and sugar sometimes. Good stuff! :D

Who said anything about getting watered down crap at restaurants? I've had some of the supposedly "good tea" before. I still disliked it.

I have the biggest urge for some tea.

*Makes tea

Earl Grey with milk (poured in first, so as not the scald the milk; if you don't know what I'm talking about, go read The Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams), and a bit of sugar.

I also like sun tea and southern style sweet tea.

I haven't really expanded my tea horizons beyond that. I really should.

I got a little bag of loose pu erh at an Asian store that sells all sorts of food imported from Asia. I've seen lots of websites from which you can order tea, but I've never done it.
What kind of white tea do you have?

Verily. This is especially a problem with sow mee white tea, because it tends to become darker even after I've taken the leaves out. I don't know how this happens. It makes it hard to figure out if I've steeped it long enough.

I just DOUBLE messed up the white tea I made. I didn't let the water cool long enough AND on top of that I left the leaves in for about 2 mins too long :p Now the tea tastes burnt :(

As for what kind of White Tea? I have no idea. It doesn't say.

Green Tea is much less touchy. Even if you let the leaves sit too long it still doesn't have that awful burnt taste to it..

That's silly, considering how much the different types of white tea actually vary in flavour... Sow mee tastes kind of nutty and autumn-foresty, and also slightly sweet. I don't remember exactly what bai mu dan (also known as white peony) tastes like, but it doesn't have that nuttiness. I think I'll go make some now, in fact.

I like iced tea with lemon and sugar.

I like hot tea with sugar and a bit of milk.

I don't like all the strange varieties, they taste like funk to me. Give me straight lipton any day of the week. Speaking of which, I think I'll go make some.

The one slot in the soda machine at work that has something other than soda is Brisk raspberry iced tea... its been in there for a year and a half (it replaced lemonade) and I wish they would put some Hawaiian punch in it now or something, cus I'm sick of Raspberry iced tea being my only alternative to carbonated acid drinks.

I'm not the biggest fan of what I would call 'posh' tea - like Earl Grey, and all the flavoured stuff. I do like Green Tea every now and again, but for me, it's just plain Ol' Yorkshire Tea with a drop of milk. Nice 'n strong too.

I can understand why people put sugar in coffee, because it's bitter (although I take it strong and black anyway), but I never saw good reason to put sugar in tea. *shrug*

TEA!! :D
