Hi all.
There is a great mod called "Knights of the Force" that is very close to completion, but the man behind the mod needs some help in wrapping up the project. The mod is a total conversion of Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy that turns it into all the battles and events in the 6 movies.

The site is http://www.kotf.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you head over to the site and post in the forums your willingness to help, he would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks All!

Just out of curiosity... does he have permission to use all of the original content that isnt his? There are a few maps apparently included that I know he didnt make.
2005-03-05, 8:39 PM #3
Oh no, not again.

DS, I don't think this mod has ANY original content, it's just a compilation. I don't know about now, but the last time I saw this mod most of the stuff wasn't being used with permission.

Theres no way this is a "TC."

You can't edit animations for JO unless you have a $1000 piece of software. And thats when it's on sale.

No animations, no new weaons. Period.

That actually looks really good.... *reads above* Oh. :[

Well at least someone is compiling all the resources from the editing community in one place.

I remember this debacle now. I KNEW it was familiar.

And if I remember right, there were many people in massassi that were pissed. Probably still are.

The first thing I saw when I clicked the link was the flag of Turkey... For a moment, I thought the website had figured out where I was (like how Google defaults to Google Turkiye when you delete all your cookies here).

I'm... not really sure why it scared me.

Myself and many others have been anxiously awaiting this mod, some for over 3 years. He keeps saying how he is doing this alone and that is why it is taking so long. He promised a release of March 5 2005 and then told us it will take a month longer. I was wondering what is involved in the production of this mod that is making it take so long to finish? He needs help with translations if anyone can help.

The extent of my Turkish is "Merhaba", "Abi", and "Abla". Oh... wait... I think "Su" means "Water".

Well, seeing as how he is ripping all his materials off of other authors, I hope the damn thing never gets released.
2005-03-05, 9:52 PM #11
I understand if you dont like the man is doing, but the people have been awaiting its release for so many years really would like this to be completed and to know that they havent wasted their time on the site. The man claims to have designed the maps himself and I dont know if this is true or not.

So if anyone speaks any other languages and knows a bit about modding, please offer your help. It shouldnt require too much of your help and Im sure you will be credited in the credits of the mod.

I wish I cared, but I don't.

The man is a theif.

No one will host the file even if he does finish ripping people off.

If he hosts the file himself, I'll make sure his service provider removes it from his webspace.

I don't care if you've been waiting for it forever, it's stolen.

Thats like saying you've been waiting to have a porshe forever, so you steal one because you deserve it for waiting.

No, he admitted to not doing any work. Also, I recognize at least 2 of those maps and all of those player models. It doesn't matter how long he has been working on this, I'll be pissed if this gets released without even ONE author's permission.

A. He credits all the authors (a TON).

B. He doesn't say he got permission for their work.

C. If it does get hosted by any site, I can guarantee you it'll get taken down moments later, after a huge uprising from the authors comes about.

Within a long 3 years time, permissions were granted by anyone who has assisted to this project. Here is a list of them http://kotf.com/credits+.htm and they all said that they enjoyed participating in this project. Some people just cant accept this fact because they don’t want to see the truth.

This great and pretentious project is prepared in 6 different languages, and I am aware that there is a minority which hates and is jealous of this project, they know if this pack is capable of achieving what it all promised, it will be grand. Many of other projects will be diminished, most people are aware and afraid of this and they are trying to hinder it. I respect each and any of persons opinions IF they are respectful, not childish. I disapprove those “wise guy” kind of messages. Hundreds and thousands of fans around 30 different country are following the project very closely.

The permissions are all taken, the detailed credits list will be available in the game, so there is nothing to worry about for the “wise guys”.

I am not planning to quarrel with anyone after this message. The only reason I posted this message was to show those guys that nothing illegal is taking place. If they dont want to help, or support, they just dont play the pack, its that easy.

We are trying to make a game that any star wars fan dreams to play. People who share this dream with me, keeps helping for 3 years. Thats our common point. All we want is to create a more enjoyable jedi knight game.

If you wonder why thousands of people are waiting for this project or what it looks like,
you can take a look at these in game videos. Thanks to everybody who supported and assisted us to create this project.

Then why is it so many people railed against you in your last thread? That seems legal. People who weren't aware their stuf was being used.

I'm not jealous, I'm not envious, I'm just pissed that you would have the gall to do this kind of BS.

Hundreds of thousands of fans? 30 countries? Maybe 30 fans period. I don't even think JA/JO has SOLD hundreds of thousands of copies. JK may have...maybe...

Either way....holy crap, oxy, there's thrawnpers and cazor. :O

This project seems impressive. Looking through some of those maps, they are very nice. Assuming you have the authors' permission, this looks excellent. I'll be sure to try it out.

As I was aware the only software capable of doing animations was Soft Image.

I've already mathmatically proven that your opinion doesn't count.
