On a college transcript, what grades are seen? Just final, final and semister or depends on school?

As far as I know, the final grade alone. That's all the professor submits to the school.

I've never heard of any transcripts that show anything other than the final grade. It would be pointless to show more. However, I've never seen a 5.0 grade either, so either Wolfy is smoking crack or his school has some strange grading scales.

Some people use 5.0 grading scales.

But my friend has a 4.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Colleges see right through that stuff, your 5.0 AP scale doesn't help *at all*. It's pure idiocy and doesn't help you. My high school had a 4.0 scale for all classes no exceptions and I asked many many colleges because of this.

It's also pure idiocy to assume all colleges hold this view of grading scales.

Yeah, but I'm talking about 4.3 out of 4.0. That's impressive. 5.0 is just a different scaling technique.

I've never seen a class over 4 credit hours either! You must go to a REAL school...I'm just at a crappy community college. :-/

5 hour classes are pretty common for foreign language classes. Not so much in other things.

I've never personally had one, but they are definitely out there.

Calculus I is a 5-hour course at Mizzou (but since I took it through Missouri Baptist, it's only a 4-hour course), Calculus II is a 5-hour course, and University Physics I & II are 5-hour courses.

That sounds a little more out of the norm.

Calc I and II here (Vanderbilt) are 4 hours, Calc III is 3 hours. Pretty much all of the general science courses are 4 as well.

Most of our Spanish, French, etc. courses are 5 hour though.

You didn't tell me you were so close. I'm like, 30 minutes from the southern TN border. In fact, I'm going to visit Vanderbilt this summer probably.

Only your final grade shows up on the transcript. If you get a mid term grade or anything like that it won't show up.

Aye, that seems logical.
