Hellz yes! I got one with Christmas money...man. The only complaint I have is the time it takes to register after you pick it up and set it down, though once I get myself a nice mousepad, that'll be no problem.

<3 that mouse.

really? mine works as soon as it touches the surface. (before, technically... since it sees the light before it touches heh)

i was worried about the size... but it's awesome. i just pwnd some Day of Defeat with it ;)

I LOVE the LED battery life indicator... so useful.

Logitech is, as usual, dominating the input peripheral market. I have a Cordless MX 700 Duo and I love it, despite the occasional connectivity quirks between the devices and the receiver. Once resolved, it works wonderfully.

The MX1000 looks awesome, both in comfort and in functionality. I would love to have one, but I don't feel it worth the money until they release some sort of MX Laser wireless keyboard and mouse combo. They keyboard wouldn't have to be anything special but I do like having one receiver. Unless of course the MX1000 receiver works with other Logitech products...

You want an Icemat or a Steelpad, plastic pads are junk and will wear out in no time. You could also look at CS Hyde's C4-NGen mouse materials, which are probably the best in performance but not much better than other plastic surfaces for longetivity. It's extremely difficult to scratch or break the tempered, frosted glass surface of the Icemat, and also quite hard to scratch or mar the anodized aluminum surface of the Steelpads. I dropped $40 on an Icemat, and while that's a lot for a mouse pad, I don't have to keep replacing it. The way dirt and dust can be felt and heard under the mouse you get used to, and probably isn't as bad on a Steelpad.

i'm not sure if the mx1000 receiver works with other peripherals... i may ask at the local compy shop tomorrow.

i got a $10 price break on it because i'm always hanging out in the shop heh... it's good to be on a first name basis with the owner and all the techy guys in the shop.
maybe some day they'll offer me a job heh (=

i would have gotten the mx700 but they didn't have any in stock except the window model which had been used by the store's owner and you had to jiggle the power thing to get it to stay plugged in. (and i don't really like how the power plugs into the USB cable rather than into the dock directly)

I'll never give up my Riven mousepad. Thing looks so sweet, its soft as heck (clothlike), isn't dirty, and has been through hell and back. (I've had it since Riven came out, and thats a LONG time)

Cloth works as well, and will provide smooth per pixel movements, but doesn't have the very low coefficient of friction that I enjoy.

beautiful mouse, had it since around october/november love it to bits, had an optical ms mouse beforehand which was good but I had to replace the batteries every 2-3 months or so, this thing is great with the recharge, not to mention it feels better and is just generally better in all respects...

I have a Logitech Trackball. The thumb kind, I can't use the ones with the ball in the middle.

Trackballs are awesome, I would never give mine up.

And yes, I've been juggling between an Icemat and Steelpad. I really like the steelpads, but the Icemats look so sweet...mmm...besides that, I was wondering--when the little teflon feet wear off, is there any way you can replace them? It'd suxx0r if you couldn't.

Teflon doesn't wear easily. Get your Teflon discs or tape from CS Hyde, they have rolls of like 140 for $6, like $9 before shipping.

Oh man, tell me about it. I mean, even coming from pro optical mice (mx300) it's so much more responsive. Hell, even more so than the MX700 and 800, (don't know about the 900).

Just a beautiful mouse overall.

CS Hyde. Don't even think about using anything but an IE based browser.

that site burns my eyes in IE, too... Java based web sites = teh suck.

as soon as i saw that java icon pop up in my systray i knew it was going to suck... heh. oh well, products seem to be good :D

so what about the Icemat or whatever it was called and the steel one you were talking about? where do i find those?

and has anyone tried the mx900? i'm curious to know how well a bluetooth mouse does... especially in windows... heh

Google you can find them. I don't think the Icemat site likes Firefox either.

The MX900 is just a Bluetooth MX700, and I've heard Bluetooth is slower than Logitech's RF despite having a longer range.

vice versa, you can use your MX1000 with your mx700 reciever. I have both recievers on my desk so I can always have a spare, but the MX1000 works in the 700's charger, and works wirelessly with the reciever.

I should note that I know this because I'm using the wireless mxduo right now... with an MX1000. :)
