Well, 50 shots of tequila is almost three times the lethal dose. Not to mention the fact that tequila hits you a lot harder than most other shots.

No, it doesn't. Sounds like it'd be enough to make someone sick and vomit, but not be lethal.

Of course I'm just judging this based on my experience with harder alcohols and doing rough estimates.

Well I think 17 units (1 shot is usually a unit) is the lethal dose. However, this is 17 units of unabsorbed alcohol in your system. Most people can go over 17 units in an evening without so much as a hangover if they spread it out over several hours.

Yeah, I guess that is true. When I drink 2 shots of 190 proof alcohol, it's always diluted with about 12 oz of other stuff, so when I have 3 or 4 of those, there's a lot of other stuff as well. Not to mention it's spread out over a couple of hours usually.

True. Last time I had a whole pitcher of beer + 1 drink and 9 shots. I was only dizzy after that, not even that drunk. Then again, that's because our louzy waiter took ages everytime we ordered something, and I had to ask him three times for my glass of water, and then eventually just walked up to the bar to get one myself (I cheated).

yeah, good tequilla is silky smooth. The cheap s*** tastes like paint thinner. It's deceptive, b/c you're drinking a lot of alcohol, but it doesn't feel like it.

Reminds me of that Sammy Hagar song- Mas Tequilla :)
